Chapter Sixty-Four
Love Like This

I sighed at Olivia, who was nestled in my arms as I attempted to breast feed. She kept latching and then spitting it out after a few moments and then she'd start to fuss. She would wrinkle up her nose and bring her eyebrows together while her mouth opened and a small squeak would sound. It was adorable the first few times but, after that I got tired of it.

Noah didn't have that problem, he latched perfectly and ate until his belly was full and then he'd give me a content smile as he fell into his dreams. Scott was sitting in the chair beside my bed, holding Noah in his arms.

Scott was already doing so good. I mean, I know it hasn't even been a full day, we've only been parents for an afternoon now but, I could tell he loved them. And he was so helpful with me, he helped me get up when I needed to use the bathroom, and would burp them for me after I fed them. Thankfully they had identical feeding schedules... for now at least.

I sighed, turning to look at Scott, "hey, Scott," I asked, gaining his attention. He looked up with a dazed smile, he was so in love with Noah and Olivia. "Will you stuff my book in Olivia's mouth? She won't latch."

The lactation nurse did it for me the first time I fed Olivia, but she wasn't here right now. Scott stared at me for a moment before nodding and standing up. "Yeah, I can do that." I spread my legs as Scott walked over and he gently placed Noah on the bed, he was wrapped in a baby blue blanket and was wearing a blue and white stripped hat, he was so cute.

"So, what do I do?" He asked, looking at me and then my boob and Olivia. I quickly explained, "I'll get her mouth to open and then you just gotta stuff my boob in her mouth." Scott nodded, saying that he understood. "Ready?" He nodded again.

I used my pinky to get Olivia to open her mouth and then Scott put my book in her mouth, I winced slightly as I felt her latch on quickly. "Thanks," I mumbled leaning back on the pillows. "Yeah, of course." He sat on the end of the bed, picking up Noah gently as he did so.

"They're so perfect, aren't they?" I asked, smiling at Noah and his father. The kids definitely looked a lot like Scott. They had his lips and eye shape and only had my nose and chubby cheeks.

Scott nodded, "they're so small." His voice was soft as Noah grabbed onto Scott's finger tightly. It was nice, being able to just be us. Our parents and Stiles left awhile ago, giving us the night to bond with Noah and Olivia. Dad had to drag Stiles out the door, my brother didn't want to leave at all.

"I love them so much, I didn't know this kind of love was possible," I whispered, looking down at Olivia. My boob was bigger than her face so it looked kind of funny how her little hand was holding onto my boob while she ate. I brushed my fingers lightly through her curly hair, she definitely got that from her dad.

Scott spoke softly, "I know. It's crazy. I would do anything to protect them." I smiled at Scott, he was looking straight at Noah, rocking him slightly. This was my family, my small family. Even though Scott and I weren't currently together, we were forever bound by these two little bundles of perfection.

"Can you promise me something?" I asked. Scott hummed in response, looking up at me curiously. "Promise me that no matter what happens between us, we won't bring them into it. Promise me that they will be our main priority always."

Scott didn't hesitate before saying, "I promise."

It was 2 am when Olivia woke up crying, Noah followed immediately afterwards. My eyes opened wide and I sat up, still groggy. I searched for the light switch but, Scott beat me to it, flicking on the lamp with Olivia in his arms.
