Chapter Nine

Two Is Trouble

"Dad, you really don't have to come with me to this appointment." I said for the fifth time this morning. It's Tuesday and I have my 12-week appointment with my doctor to check on the baby and make sure everything is okay. My dad is insisting he come with but, I've done two of these appointments on my own.

"I'm going and thats final, Victoria." I sighed, giving in while I grabbed my bag off the counter. "Okay, but Danny is coming too. He said he wants to be there to see the baby." I smiled. I'm really happy that Danny is here to support me like this, and he doesn't judge me at all.

My dad opened the front door for me. "Oh and, after my appointment I need to get an application from the front desk, Doctor Neil said he could set me up with a  job as a secretary." I got into my dads police car, sitting in the passenger seat and pulled out my phone to text Danny.

My dad sat beside me and started the car. "That's great, it's good that you're finding a job. It's very responsible of you." I gave my dad a smile as we drove to the Doctors office.

------

I sat in the waiting room between Danny and my dad. I was supposed to be filling out a paper with all my personal information, but all I could focus on was the other women in the waiting room.

I was by far the youngest in here, the rest of the women were in their twenties and thirties. One woman was huge, like her stomach was way bigger than any of the others, and stretched out so far that I didn't think she could even see her own toes. I looked down at my belly and swallowed hard.

Danny grabbed my hand, noticing my discomfort. "Vic, I'm sure you won't get that big." He whispered in my ear. I nodded, not convinced in the slightest. I felt scared, more scared about it than I had before.

I still don't know what I was thinking on that night three months ago. How could I have forgotten a stupid condom?

"Victoria Stilinski?" A woman came out and called my name, my eyes shot up to hers and I stood up nervously. My dad and Danny followed me back to the room. It was clean and painted an off white color.

There were two chairs next to the table with the sheet on it. I bit my lip and sat up on the table, the boys sat next to me. The lady smiled kindly at me. "Hi, I'm Jackie. I'll be your nurse today. Can I get your date of birth?"

Jackie continued to ask many questions, like date of conception, if I was experiencing any symptoms, if I'd had any bleeding. That type of thing. She even asked if my dad or Danny was the father, to which all of us were quick to deny that that was the case.

She left us and said the ultrasound technician would be in shortly to take pictures of the baby. I nodded and looked back to Danny and my dad. "Is it normal to be scared?"

Danny nodded. "I mean, I'd be scared too. It's not everyday you get knocked up." I laughed a little with Danny, knowing that he was trying to lighten the mood. "I wonder when I'll get to find out the gender." I trailed off.

Danny seemed to get excited at this. "I hope its a girl. Then we can buy her little dresses and skirts. Ugh she'll be so cute." I laughed. My dad tried to force a little smile but, I could tell he was just as freaked out as I was.

"Daddy, it's gonna be okay." I gave him a small smile and I squeezed his hand reassuringly. He nodded.

The ultrasound guy walked in and washed his hands before putting on gloves. "Lay back and lift up your shirt please." I obeyed and lifted back my shirt, a small bump had formed at the base of my abdomen.
