Chapter Fifty-Five
Sick

I sneezed into the tissue that had been kindly given to me by Scott, while he went to get Melissa. I ended up staying at Scott's last night to help him with setting up the nursery here at his house, which used to be Isaac's room.

But that's besides the point. Long story short, the dust in the room made my allergies act up, but Scott doesn't believe me. He is insisting that I'm sick and that he needs to have Melissa check on me to make sure I'm not dying.

I will admit, it's cute how concerned he is. I sneezed again right as Melissa and Scott walked into the room. I was still in my pajamas, snuggled into Scott's bed, even though it was thirty minutes till school. I don't think I'll be going today.

Melissa came over to me with a smile, sitting on the edge of Scott's bed while holding up a thermometer. I rolled my eyes, looking to Scott, who was standing in the doorway with his eyebrows knit together in worry.

"Scott, I'm fine. How many times do I have to say tha, that," I sneezed again, right into the tissue. When I opened my eyes, Melissa had her head tilted, "open up." I sighed but, obeyed and she stuck the thermometer under my tongue.

After a moment the thing beeped and Melissa took it out, "99.7. A little high but, it's nothing serious." Melissa spoke to Scott, probably trying to reassure him. He didn't seem convinced, "she sounds sick," he said. The worry in his voice was adorable and comforting. I think he'll be good at the whole dad thing.

Melissa sighed, "I'll leave the thermometer with her, so she can monitor her temp. Why don't you go make her some tea?" Scott hesitated in the doorway for a minute, eyeing Melissa and then myself before sighing and leaving.

I laughed lightly, "he's so sweet to me." Melissa smiled, turing back to look at me. "He loves you," she mused which made my heart swell. If his mother can see that he loves me, then it must be true.

I went to respond but, I got cut off by my boy moving, kicking upward on my stomach. I smiled sightly, "he's kicking..." my voice was nasly and you could tell I was either slightly sick or had allergies. "Wanna feel?" I asked Melissa.

She smiled at me, "sure." I set my tissue down beside me and moved the blanket down, revealing my stomach that was covered by one of Scott's t-shirts that barely fit, it was tight around my stomach.

I grabbed Melissa's hand and pressed it right over where he was positioned and just as I set her hand down, he moved, pressing against her hand. I smiled while watching her reaction, the way her eyes widened slightly and a small smile tugged at her lips.

Scott walked in with my tea not long after and Melissa excused herself, telling me to call if I needed anything. "What were you and my mom talking about while I was gone?" He asked, sitting beside me where Melissa was sitting earlier.

The mug full of tea warmed my hands and I could smell the faint scent of honey and lemons drifting from the cup. He made it just the way I like it. I shrugged in response to Scott's question. "She was just feeling little Stiles move." I brought the cup to my lips to blow across the top.

"Little Stiles?" He asked, raising an eyebrow while putting his hand on my stomach. By now he knew where each baby was located, Janey on the top and little Stiles at the base. I nodded, "until we come up with a first name, he's gonna be called 'little Stiles.'"

Scott laughed at that before dipping his head downward. I wasn't sure what he was doing, but my heart melted as he placed a kiss to my belly, lingering for a moment before sitting up and then moving to give me a kiss.
