I giggled as Colby ran his nose all down my side. His lips just grazed my skin, sending tingles after the tickly sensation. When he reached my hip, he started to kiss all the way up my back until he got to my shoulder, where he nipped once then kissed my lips. I had to smile into it, bringing myself up onto my elbows.

We'd been here for hours, and I'd lost count of how many rounds we'd done. I didn't think it really mattered because there wasn't that much we had to do—only murder the guy who ruined my whole life. That wasn't much at all.

Getting a little restless, I found myself crawling over the top of Colby as I trailed my fingertips down his chest. His muscles tensed beneath me and he got grabby with his hands, holding onto my ass and the dip at my waist. His fingers spread out. pressing his palm to my skin.

Just as I was about to move down to his neck, he slapped my ass and pulled back enough to see my face. His eyes flicked down to my lips but he didn't give in to the urge to kiss me again. "We should get up," he whispered, squeezing my butt. I raised a brow at him. "We should."

"What have we even got to do?" I replied, starting to kiss his jaw. He let me as he spoke, keeping a tight hold on my body.

"I haven't got the intel back from Elton and his crew, and training was cut short yesterday so we have to do tha-t." His voice hitched alongside his breath when I nipped at his skin. I glanced up to see his lip between his teeth and I smirked. "Don't you want to train?" He asked, trying to hide the effect I'd had on him.

"Hm, I don't know. I'm comfy."

He smiled. "But you could be kicking someone's ass. Kevin, maybe?"

I straightened up. "You'd let me fight Kevin?" He didn't respond, but I could tell he regretted saying it. A huge grin came over my face. "I am so holding you to that. I wanna fight Kevin. Come on, get up."

"Dammit," Colby grumbled to himself as I dragged him out of my bed. I felt suddenly giddy and all I wanted to do was release a little of that energy on Colby's friends.

We showered—yes, together, but we definitely didn't do anything... —before I found out an outfit and got changed. I wore a black crop top riddled with cutouts, a pair of black pants with ropes all down the legs, and a pair of black, slim ankle boots that had much too large of a heel considering I wanted to kick some ass today. I had my hair in its usual half-up half-down style and very basic makeup on—I didn't bother with it.

When I walked back to the bathroom, I found Colby leaning against the counter looking down at his phone. He heard me and glanced up only to do a double-take. His eyes locked on my pants, which I expected.

"Eyes up here, horn-boy," I teased, glancing at the mirror to check myself out. Okay, maybe I could understand why he was looking at me like that. I was hot.

"You gonna kick Kevin's ass looking like that?" He asked as he came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. His lips almost automatically pressed to my neck, sending shivers down my spine.

"Of course," I replied, smirking.

Colby hummed. "I don't know if I'll be able to keep my hands off you if you do that." I giggled and turned my face towards his. "You're already irresistible as it is."

"Is that a bad thing?" I challenged, nudging his cheek with my nose. He smiled and shook his head as he spun me around, pressing me to the counter with his body. His hands rested on my waist now. "Good, because I love teasing the fuck out of you."

"I know you do," he sighed. "Are you sure you want to fight Kevin? I don't know if you should start smaller..." I narrowed my eyes at him. "Just to start, then you can kick Kevin's ass."

"I won't start with anyone weaker than... Cassie. She's a strong woman, right?" Colby nodded. "Then there's my first fight. Keep your nose out of it; I want to do this on my own."

"Alright," he agreed, though he didn't sound very convinced. I hoped he wasn't going to intercept my fights if I was losing: I wanted to find out if I really could beat up vampires or not. I took Mike down pretty easily, but that's because he wasn't expecting me to move as quickly as I did. Today, they would know and they'd be ready... but they were also going to go easy on me no matter what I asked of them.

Maybe Mike was my only hope at a real fight—he wasn't the biggest fan of me, so he wouldn't hold back nearly as much as everyone else.

With that in mind, I gently took hold of Colby's face and kissed him, ensuring I put enough into it to get him excited again. He held me tighter suddenly, his fingers digging into my waist. I was just enjoying it. When I pulled back, I slid my hands slowly down to his chest. "I need a boost so my... abilities can come about later," I reminded him.

"Right. I almost forgot about that." He looked uncomfortable, but he lifted his wrist to his mouth anyway.

"I don't want to get rid of your bite mark," I murmured, pouting as I watched blood slowly trickle from his wound. He held his arm out for me and I took it, latching on without argument. It was still in my head that this would remove the mark he left on my neck, and I wasn't the happiest about that. I wished I could just pick and choose what his blood did for me. But I couldn't.

"I can always make a new one there," Colby said, caressing the mark that was very quickly healing up. I let his arm go but he didn't move for a second, watching his work disappear. I felt really good the moment his eyes met mine, telling me his blood had already kicked in. He placed a swift kiss on my lips, ran water down his arm, then took my hand.

Time to go and kick some ass, I guess.
