I woke up and heard screaming coming from downstairs. I looked at the time and it was 10:43 a.m., I got up and walked downstairs to me met with Hermione laying on the floor with Bellatrix on top of her. I looked around and saw the Malfoys standing in the corner with Snatchers all around.
"I didn't take it" she hollered
"Foolish girl," said Bellatrix before cutting into her arm, which made Hermione scream even more
"Stop!" I yelled which made Bellatrix lookup
"Ahh, Emerald come, practice on the little mudblood here" she snarled
"No," I said looking around then spotted Harry and Ron hidden behind the staircase "We must wait for the Dark Lord," I said
"We must not do such a thing," said Bellatrix as she pointed her wand at Hermione, before she could do anything I looked up and saw Dobby twisting the chandelier. The chandelier broke off and fell to the ground, pieces of glass everywhere.
"You stupid elf could've killed me" she hollered, I saw the Golden trio had done received wands.
"Dobby didn't mean to kill anyone, just to seriously injure," he said
"NOW!" Yelled Harry as they started twisting, before they apparated Bellatrix threw a dagger at them, then they were gone. She looked up at me,
"Why didn't you kill her?" She yelled at me
"We needed to wait for the Dark Lord" I hollered back before walking to my room
I heard a knock on my door, then it opened. Mattheo was standing there watching me as I read a book.
"Why did you stall for them?" He said
"I didn't do such a thing," I said through my teeth
"You knew they were at the Forest of Dean, that's where you went in the middle of the night," he said pacing my room
"I told you, I went to go pee," I said standing up
"If anyone finds out you will be killed on the spot," he said looking at me
"I didn't do anything, Riddle," I said
"Keep telling yourself that," he said before storming out, I can't wait to leave this house.
2 weeks later
Hogwarts Express. I stood there with my trunk, hating life. Snape is the new headmaster, well that's what I heard at the meeting. I walked down the aisle trying to find an empty compartment but the only compartment left was with a boy with chestnut brown hair and a lot of freckles reading a book.
"Hi, all of the compartments are full may I sit here?" I asked him as he looked up at me
"Yes," he said looking back down to his book
"So, what's your name?" I asked him
"Aaron Rosier," he said closing his book and reaching out his hand for me to shake
"Emerald Blackwood," I said shaking his hand, as he opened his mouth in shock
"Wow, I'm sorry it's just you look different than how I expected," he said
"I get that a lot, so what house are you in?"
"I'm not sorted," he said blushing
"You transferred?" I asked as he nodded "From what school?"
"Dumstrang, I have more book smart in me than warrior strength in me apparently," he said making him laugh.
"You will probably be in Ravenclaw," I said
"I'm hoping for Slytherin, the Rosiers have always been in Slytherin," he said
"Why did your parents send you to Dumstrang?" I asked
"Oh, my parents died right before I went to school, my grandparents thought it would be better for me to be sent to Dumstrang, for safety" he explained
"They picked the wrong time for safety, this year is nothing but safe" I mumbled
Aaron and I talked some the rest of the train ride, then he read his book while I read mine. It was until dark that we arrived,
"I'll see you at dinner, hopefully, you get sorted into Slytherin Rosier," I said smiling at him then exiting the compartment and grabbing my trunk. I hopped off the train and saw Daphne and Draco talking I ran up beside them,
"Hey," I said as they looked at me
"Where were you?" Draco asked
"On the train," I said
"It doesn't matter Draco look how much you've grown," said Daphne hugging me
"Look at you, you're stunning," I said it was true, she had grown her hair out and she had grown taller and became more defined.
"That's my girlfriend your talking about," said Draco pulling Daphne by her waist towards him
"I know," I said getting on the carriages to the castle
"Did you hear Potter, Granger, and Weasley are not returning this semester" whispered Daphne
"Potter, he's probably dead at this point" snarled Draco
"Why?" I asked even though I knew, they were searching for the Horcruxes
"Hell if I know," said Daphne as the carriage came to a stop
"Some say they couldn't handle Snape being the Headmaster, I say they realized how weak they were and moved away before a war could break out," she said as she walked out of the carriage and to the castle
"Yeah, I wonder where they are now," I said more to myself than her
"Doesn't matter, let's go" she said pulling me as she ran into the Great Hall, we sat down at the front of the table waiting for the first years to be sorted. Professor McGonagall walked in with the students and Aaron and called out their names until she got to Aaron,
"Rosier, Aaron" she hollered as he stepped up to the sorting hat
"SLYTHERIN" hollered the hat 10 seconds after it got placed on his head, he walked over to our table and saw me so he sat down. I smiled at him as the rest of the first years got sorted and Snape stood up. He didn't even give a speech just put food on the table, this is going to be a long year.
