The Killer Duo// Mattheo Riddle

Part 36

Happy endings. I don't believe in them, we all die at some point, we lose our friends and our lovers. I stand here watching as The Dark Lord comes followed by his loyal servants.

"Harry Potter is dead" he laughed as Ginny Weasley screamed

"Quiet silly girl," he said looking around and Neville stepping up making his heroic speech.

Next thing I know I'm staring at Mattheo Riddle as he looks at me with a betraying look. I look around as all my classmates fight for their lives, they shouldn't be doing this, we're children. I look back at Mattheo to see him gone. I turn my head to see Daphne laying on the ground, I run towards her not caring if I get hit with a spell.

"Daphne!" I yelled watching as she lays pale with her face wet from tears, her body lifeless.

Flashback

"Hi, I'm Daphne Greengrass," she said holding out her hand, "I'm a Greengrass not an ass like my sister, get it?" I laughed then shook her hand.

"Emera-" I was cut off by her

"Emerald Blackwood, the girl who came back," she said dramatically like they give Harry Potter.

We both laughed and talked for what felt like 1 minute but then I looked outside and it was past dark.

"Holy shit, we've talked for 4 hours, how come I've never heard of you?"

"I guess when your quiet, nice, and don't care you become a ghost, my sister is loud, mean, and cares a lot so she's the center of attention," she said

"Well your way better than her, I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" I said as I gathered my book and started heading up the girl's dormitory's steps.

"Yeah, at breakfast," she said brightly, I waved goodbye and she waved back too.

"He left me Emerald" she cried

"Shhhh," I said holding her head against my chest as she cried a horrid sound

End of Flashback

     I screamed as loud as I could as I fell to my knees, I felt a gush of wind come from my body as fire erupted into waves of rows. I held Daphnes' head in my hands as I cried into her chest, I looked up to see Death Eaters, dead. I heard clapping from a distance, as I turned around I saw Mattheo coming towards me.

"Help me, Mattheo," I said frantically "We still have time, we can save her," I said grabbing my wand as I sniffled as I felt a hand touch my shoulder.

"She's dead," he said raising my throat with his neck
"You will see her shortly though," he said

"Yo-you are going to kill me," I said shocked

"A task is a task" he shrugged

"Why? Why does it? Why didn't you just do it 2 months ago" I said as a tear dropped down my cheek

"Because Emerald, life's the tragedy, you know how they categorize Shakespeare's plays, right? If it ends with a wedding, it's a comedy. And if it ends with a funeral, it's a tragedy. So we're all living tragedies because we all end the same way, and it isn't with a goddamned thing." He said looking anywhere besides me

"Great to know, but look me in the fucking eye if you're going to talk to me. If someone is going to kill me they need to have the balls to do it" I yelled tears coming out of my eyes like a waterfall

"I'm sorry" he whispered

"Your sorry? Oh yeah he's sorry, your not sorry because you wouldn't be doing it" I said grabbing the wand it pulling it closer to my neck

"What are you doing?" He asked

"Do it," I said "Look me in the eye and do it" I said as he finally looked at me, he had tears in his eyes as he closes his eyes.

I felt a stinging pain in my body, he opened his eyes as he looked horrified at my body turning into ashes.

"He's dead" I breathed looking up at Mattheo,

"No, no! Don't leave me, Emerald, don't leave me" he screamed grabbing onto my face and kissing me. "I love you, you can't leave me," he said pulling me closer

"Goodnight Romeo" I smiled as I felt like I was floating away, my body floating into pieces, the world coming to an end. It was all an illusion, being real, it was just a dream because I was already dead. I wasn't here, I wasn't in this world, I was dead on the inside just an illusion to everybody else.
