Chapter 15

"When did you schedule your next patrol, Jaz?" Dad asked as I helped him organize his office. Again.

"I think tomorrow at noon," I answered as the council came into the meeting room. I glanced up at them, kind of surprised that they came here. They must have sniffed us out after we came to the meeting room after dinner.

"What's this about noon?" the King of Kings asked. I won't lie that he does appear attractive. He had green eyes and black touseled hair. Hell. He might almost be able to compete with Sylver. Speaking of, I wonder what my little hunter's doing right now. I pried my eyes from him and dug through the files. Where the hell was it?

"Just patrols," Dad replied calmly.

He sure did seem at ease with the council being here since Greg, Alexander, and the other alphas left. He was a lot more casual with them and definitely more comfortable around them. I wonder if it was really the council that had him uneasy in the first place. What if it was because of something to do with what the king was talking about with Greg?

"Don't worry. Alexander will not be a bother to you anymore," said the King of the Council. I looked at him. "As long as I'm around, no man gets to treat a woman like that."

"You were generous enough to get him off my back for a while, but that may not be the last of him." Dad's voice sounded strained.

"I know."

"What should we do?" King of Australia questioned. Dad peeked at them in bewilderment.

"What? Nothing, why?" Dad was confused, and so was I.

"You know we can't just ignore how he treated a king, right?"

"He's still my responsibility."

Problem 101! I jumped in my spot at Emilio's voice, and it did not go unnoticed by anyone. The first pair of eyes that snapped to me was the King of Kings's.

What the hell, Emilio?

Sis, we got boarder problems.

And they're major, Alpha, Dominic cut in. Tom is with my father. He's safe, so Sylver can rest easy.

Good to know. Now what's this about boarder problems?

We're short a few guys, and there's a guy claiming to be a rogue king. What do you want us to do?

A rogue king? We haven't had an encounter with one of them in a long time. I hope everything's all right. What to do...

I'll be there in a minute. I refocused to Dad calling my name for probably the hundredth time.

"I gotta go," I said immediately. I pulled out my cell phone, dialing his number as I walked out the door. Dad just followed me like a lost puppy.

"So glad my sweet alpha FINALLY decided to call upon me," he answered.

"You know better, Caine. I need you at the boarders asap. I'll meet you there."

"Yeah, yeah. It's not like I have anything better to do in my spare times than being summoned by my alpha."

"Caine," I growled warningly as I looked at Sylver who stood by the door. He cocked a brow like he's been listening to the entire conversation.

"Hey, Alpha," Caine announced. I was shocked to say the least. Although, it shouldn't be surprising that he noticed Sylver was near me. He's always been able to detect the difference in my breathing, body language, or talking. It's not out of the normal.

"Hey," Sylver replied.

"You heard that?" I quizzed. Sylver nodded, padding his hunter's knife as if to remind me that he was indeed a hunter. "Anyways, Caine. Do you understand?"

"Alpha, hurry up. I've been standing outside for five minutes. Geez. You take forever." I rolled my eyes, hanging up. I handed my phone to Sylver while he just looked at me like I was stupid.

"Hang on to that. I'll be back soon." He nodded hesitantly as I turned and walked out the door. I paused on the porch, staring at the three boys outside. "Why are those two here?"

"I thought you could use the extra hands and company, so I brought Bruce and Axel."

"Axel, Bruce, and Caine, huh. Interesting combination. No Coden today?"

"He's already there," Axel huffed.

"Okay. Let's go." I jumped off the porch, shifting. I landed before shaking out my fur. I heard three, powerful murderous growls, and I whipped around. The boys were facing the council. Sylver just observed from the door frame of the front door. "Boys!" I barked. "We don't have time." Their snarls ceased. With one last warning growl from Caine, they, too, shifted, and we took off towards our boarders.
