Chapter 21

His head whipped towards me at his name being called. He was the son of Ansel and the next King of South America. He gave the alpha, who now stood on his feet, another growl before trotting towards my exhausted, lying down form. He put his ears back concern, licking my head gently with his tongue. It was a strong, powerful lick to assure me I was safe, but soft and gentle to prove he would protect me. He looked down at me.

"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?"

"Quite the opposite, really," Alpha Coven, the King of Islands, spoke up. "I got her checked by my doctor after I saved her life."

"Then why is she running?" Andrew snapped at him.

"How should I know? Apparently she knows something about me that I don't realize. She doesn't trust me. I just met the kid."

"This kid just so happens to be an alpha for your information. Treat her with respect."

"He's not wrong." We turned to the direction of the doctor hopping off a wolf. "Her blood test came back. She is, indeed, of alpha blood. One of the most powerful kings at that." The doctor eyed me carefully.

"I don't care," Coven snarled. "She's still injured."

"So you did hurt her!"

"No, I didn't! Those hunters were the bastards who did!" Max rubbed his wolf up against his mate to soothe him.

"It doesn't matter. I'm taking her with me."

"I won't let you leave my territory with her."

"I wouldn't challenge me if I were you, Coven."

"Please do enlighten me why, Andrew."

Daggers were thrown at the ground at either of their feet as they growled, stepping back. Andrew was snarling as he stood over me protectively while two figures hopped down from the trees like lightning.

"Guess you were right, Cous," a girl said to the guy beside her. "Once again, your instinct led us straight to our target."

"Half of it at least," he agreed. "Should we ring Silver Strike?"

"In a minute."

"Who are you, and what business do you have here?" Beta snapped.

"Just here for her, and we'll be on our way," the female cousin said casually. She turned to me. "I have never in my life seen Sylver crumble like he did." My ears raised at the name. Andrew looked down at me as I crawled forward and stood up. "Oh? It rings a bell?" She looked at her cousin. "Told you it was her."

"How do you know him?" I questioned cautiously.

"Know him? Please, that's an easy question. We were supposed to get engaged when he turned 25. I was his future fiancee." My ears flattened almost instantly at the reply. They what?

"That's enough lies out of your mouths." Sylver dropped down, raising his eyes in a glare towards Andrew, the two hunters, and Coven's pack. Finally, his gaze fell upon me. He visibally relaxed. He motioned me towards him. When I was about to move, the two kings lunged, but two wolves took them down with ease.

"I told you they would attack you, Dumbass," Dominic huffed while Caine snorted. Dominic had Andrew pinned, and Caine locked Coven to the earth.

"That's why he has you two," Tom laughed, joining the party.

"I told you to stay hidden," Dominic stated.

"And let my mate have all the fun? No way."

"How did you find me?" I asked, breaking everything.
