(Lucy's P.O.V.)
What was happening? One minute Natsu was stumbling into the guild, not even able to stand, yelling at Samuel, and the next he had passed out.
Samuel didn't look shocked in the least.
"Serves him right," He mused, a cold smile forming.
"What did he do to you?" I accused, growing aggravated. I knew he knew more than he was letting on.
Samuel turned to me, brushing a wisp of blonde hair out of his dark green eyes that had a malicious glint to them.
He stared at me, but didn't answer.
"Samuel!" I said again.
He paused. "Shouldn't you go check on your friend, princess?" He cooed, than strode away as if nothing was wrong.

Natsu lay in a bed, still. His breathing was shallow, raspy.
It hurt to see him like this.
I could feel hot tears begin to trickle down my face.
"Natsu...I'm so sorry," I choked between sobs. This is all my fault, isn't it? If Samuel wasn't here he wouldn't...
The Dragon Slayer began to stir.
He looked at me with half-open eyes.
Unlike Samuel's, his eyes were full of compassion.
"L...ucy," The pinkette said, his voice groggy.
"Natsu!" I exclaimed, biting back more sobs.
"I'm sorry, Natsu. I really am..."
He grinned. "After this, how about that job?"
I nodded, smiling. I'm just glad he's okay. "Of course! But...Natsu, what happened to you?"
His face grew grim. "I'll tell you..."

~FLASHBACK~
"Hey! Blonde dude!" I called, chasing after him. He had just left his dinner with Lucy.
Whether he heard me or not, he ignored me.
Growing suspicious, I decided to follow him.
He ran across town, and into an alley. What...what was he doing?
I peeked, sticking my head just enough so I could see what was going on.
Samuel looked frightened, and he kept glancing around, as if he...was looking for someone?
"I...I've done what you asked me to!" He called out to the darkness. His voice was cracking, and he began to tremble.
A few minutes passed. I prayed he couldn't he the rise and fall of my breath.
But then--
"I know you have. I've been watching you." A shadowed figure suddenly appeared.
"Samuel..."
I stifled a gasp. Wha--what was going on?! Wasn't...wasn't he dead?
Samuel said nothing, but the man continued.
"Samuel, you must make sure that that guild is destroyed."
He nodded. "Yes, Mr. Heartfilia."
~FLASHBACK ENDS~

Lucy was frozen. I wouldn't blame her if she didn't believe me.
But shaking her head she asked "how did you get caught?"
My face began to fluster. "Well I confronted them and--"
"Natsu! In all the cop novels you NEVER confront the bad guy without backup!" She interrupted.
"Well I haven't read any cop novels!" I protested. "Or any novels!"
Lucy looked like she was about to say something, but was cut off.
By him.
"Mr. Heartfilia is very displeased with you...Lucy..."
