(valencia's pov):
"tom, i don't think it's working." i sighed.

"i don't even understand why you don't want to talk to your mom?" he questioned.

no. i cant tell him. he'll probably think i have too much shit going on in my life and he'll want to leave.

"i—just don't want to." i hesitantly said.

"but she's your mom, did you guys have a little fight or something?" he asked.

i scoffed,
"i wish it was just that."

he gave me a confused look.

"i don't like talking about it. it's just—" i couldn't continue the sentence as i had started tearing up again.

"hey, hey. you don't have to, it's okay." he softly said as he pulled me into a hug.

"thank you tom, for everything."

"you don't have to thank me, i'll always be here for you val." he replied.

even though the day resulted in shitty talks with my parents, reminding me of my past, he somehow managed to comfort me, and didn't judge me while i cried or shouted about my dad as if he were here to listen to me.

he'll always be here for me.

i hope.
