Rushing immediately downstairs, I collapse onto my bed with exhaustion. I hear the sound of someone rushing down the stairs after me and only have a second and react before I can hear Frank's laughter. I roll my eyes and get off the floor that I had rolled over onto.

"What do you want?" I sarcastically ask as he takes in my room. I had yet to really decorate it considering I just got here but my giant gloomy bear laid proudly on top of the bed.

"Figured I'd help ya put shit away, if that's okay with you."

I nodded, knowing this was likely his way of getting out of some band meeting stuff. I had overheard him and Ray discussing the tour while we had ate lunch earlier. The mall we went to was pretty dead and the only place in the food court that had been open was a Chinese place. It wasn't too bad and I had been able to convince Ray to buy a bag of fortune cookies.

Shrugging, I gather my bags up again and shuffle them around. I start by gently dumping the two Spencer's and Hot Topic bags out on my bed, Clothes and accessories falling out.

"Wanna start by helping me rip the tags off?"

Frank laughed and we spent the next three or so hours breaking of tags and packaging. I then put all my new clothes away and then I grabbed the jewelry box I had found at the thrift store I faced them to stop at. I put all of my jewelry and accessories in there.

Next was the room decorations, quite a few of those things being from Spencer's or the thrift store. I had gotten LED lights and as I was getting on Frank's shoulders to be able to line them up on the trim/border of the ceiling, Mikey came into the room.

"What the fuck are you two up to."

Scaring the shit out of me, I stumble back and fall off of Frank. Thankfully I had fallen onto my bed and it wasn't too big of a fall.

"Jesus christ, mikes! You scared the shit out of me." Mikey just laughs and I glare playfully out of him, jumping out of my bed and chasing him back upstairs.

Once I had calmed down, he followed me back down and helped with the lights. Next to put up was both my nonbinary pride flag and pan flag.

I lined them both up so that they hung vertically, side by side above my desk. I had asked Gee to get one and he had approved. We had gotten one from Walmart since it'd be easier to build than one from Ikea. Since my floor was carpeted and rolling chair wasn't going to be fun to deal with but I got one anyways, seeing as they usually had more comfortable seats and just were better altogether. I was also able to buy myself a pc with some of the money I had gotten for my birthday from Karen. She had felt guilty enough that she gave it to me in private after getting drunk the Wednesday before I left.

Shaking my head from my overlapping tracks, I pull the tapestry out of its earthbound bag and climb onto my bed.

I hung up the tapestry above my bed, it was a dark green with an image of a few frogs scattered around a mushroom. It fit perfectly above my bed.

The last were a variety of small ceramic mushrooms and frogs I had found that I placed in various places around the room. One was even on the shelf by my window.

The window wasn't very big. It technically wasn't a window, but one of those basement windows that had space in them? I think it's called a window well.

I know all of this seemed overboard seeing as I didn't know how long I'd be here but al the same, I was happy to have things that brought me comfort. Besides, I know how to pack up my entire life into one or two bags pretty well.

----

"Annnnd look!" I swung open my door and walked backwards with a huge smile on my face. I was pretty proud with what I could do with the room. I was a little sad I couldn't paint the walls but didn't think anything of it. I had the leds up anyways and they were currently on green and pink. I had to get a couple different packages so I was excited to have the ability to set them to different colors.

My Chem all looked around in amazement, Frank walking over to my window well in curiosity and smiling at the little frog ceramic there. It was of a frog hanging onto a flower, two fingers up in a piece sign.

"Wow. Very...mushroomy" I laugh and thank Ray. I had also redone my bathroom but nothing too special, just a shower curtain, toothbrush holder and a small trashcan. I had put the small amount of makeup I owned in the drawers under the sink, aka a liquid eyeliner pen and the one eyeshadow pallet I've had for a while from Audrey. I'm pretty sure I had borrowed it once and never gave it back. It's not like she was using it.

"Yeah, I just really like forresty stuff."

I smile as I usher them out, all of us heading back upstairs so we could make dinner...or order take out again.

-------

Sighing, I gently shut my door and lock it. I smile at my new room and get the idea to call my dad again, the excitement I had in telling everything that had happened in the week I hadn't been able to speak to him taking a chokehold on me.

I sent a quick test just to make sure I could call him and frowned when it took nearly 20 minutes for him to respond.

As soon as I got the message, I clicked on the icon and spun nervously in my new chair.

"Spider, hey!"

I smile at the nickname, pressing my phone between my cheek and my shoulder in attempt to make it not fall as I logged into my computer.

"Hey dad. I have so much to tell you!"

"Well don't leave me hanging, spidey."

I laugh and begin my ramble while I wait for both origin and the Sims 4 to download. I had gotten the game when I was 13 or so and still had an origin account. I just know all of my Sims are most likely dead but oh well.

I stayed up until nearly 5 am just talking about everything and anything. I just wished I could see my dad's face. See my mom's loving blue eyes and braid my dad's ashy blonde hair as I rant about whatever was bothering me.

Instead, I settled for the small amount of time I was able to hear their voices.

"Spencer, babes, you need to go to bed. We can always talk in the morning."

I whine but agree, exhaustion already taking its hold on me as I lay in bed. I had put the phone on speaker when my ear started hurting and I was too tired to worry if the noise traveled.

"Fine. I love you guys. I miss you, so long.." I Trail and hear two tired giggles, warming me just a bit more.

"And goodnight, spider." The two finish and I smile widely as I close my eyes, blinding plugging in my phone before finally turning over to sleep.

This had probably been the best Saturday I've had in a while.
