Stuck In A Impasse

"Huff— Huff— Huff!" I was injured, fatigued, and on the edge of running out of Mana, but I had no choice but to keep fighting, despite the fact that my odds were bleak and increasing bleaker by the minute.

Even though many of my bones were broken, I was still able to maneuver to a certain by using [Enhancement Magic] to increase the little amount of strength I have in my muscles and intact bones just enough to be able to attack or dodge an attack.

Five to six Ice Imps simultaneously jumped at me from above in the trees. The Ice Imps on the ground were still slowly closing in with a sinister appearance.

I leapt from the ground while forming a Blood Dagger with a little difficulty and thrusted my Blood Dagger into the temple of the Ice Imp.

"Pfft!

I landed on the falling Ice Imp's head and used it as a foothold to attack the five remaining Ice Imps falling toward me.

I landed on the head of the second Ice Imp with two katanas in hand and used it to rotate on my axis to slash at the four other Ice Imps which were coming from different directions.

"Pff! Pff Pfff! Pffff!

Four Ice Imp corpses could be seen falling to the ground with two decapitated around the waist while the other two were beheaded.

"Thudd!

I formed a Blood Dagger and leapt off of the Ice Imps* head while stabbing at the spinal cord on the back of his neck. I then dragged my Blood Dagger down his back, while falling, causing his Spinal Cord to completely sever in half, which in turn killed him quickly afterwards.

I then landed back on the ground with a lot more difficulty. My body wanted to rest, but I knew I couldn't get the chance with this many enemies surrounding me.

I once again checked the remaining amount of Mana and stamina I had left:

Stamina: [3/615]
Chaotic Mana: [1/4250]

I became inattentive and failed to notice an Ice Imp attacking me, which I noticed at the last second before getting hit hard in the leg. I then lost my balance and fell down. Before I hit the ground, I rotated and landed on my back, which sent an extremely painful shock through my entire body, but by using the momentum from the fall I was able to chop off the Ice Imps legs, which made them fall backwards.

Before I had time to take a breath, I was once again attacked by a fist which I dodged by rolling to the side with difficulty.

I slashed at his legs, which were only able to cut through one of them, but that was enough to make him lose his balance. I then thrust my katana into its heart while it was falling.

"Thudd!

I stood up with greater difficulty with an injured leg from the attack previously. I was somehow able to walk.

Another Ice Imp attacked me from above, aiming its fist at my head. I couldn't dodge this attack with my current speed so I had no choice but to kill it before it kills me.

I mustered a decent amount of strength I had left in my legs and leaped up into the air. When I was in attacking distance, I slashed my katana while trying to decapitate it.

"Pfff—!" My attack wasn't able to cut through the bone even though it had a weak constitution. The body weight of the Ice Imp was then applied to me, which I couldn't counter because of my exhausted state, which caused me to fall.

We both hit the ground and slid down a steep and slippery hill. After tumbling for a while, I rolled onto my back, while the Ice Imp was directly on top of me, but was now dead from my katana piercing his heart while we were tumbling down the hill.

I now had a scorching feeling in my lungs every breath I took. It was so difficult to breathe that I was beginning to fall unconscious. My chest and legs were bound by the Ice Imp, while my arms and head weren't.

The only thing I could see was hundreds upon hundreds of Ice Imps surrounding me* with sinister stares.

I didn't have enough strength to lift the corpse or even pull my Katana out of its heart. Even if I could, it would still be difficult.

I didn't feel any fear, since it would just make my situation worse and would make it harder for me to find a way to counter my situation.

The Ice Imps watched me fall unconscious, but knew I was still alive. They would normally attack me as soon as this situation arose, but they were extremely cautious since they suffered a lot of casualties.

At this time, Kasumi had to move to a different tree a little closer to the fight between Lily and the Ice Imps. She was about to go help Lily, but stopped when her intuition told her not to go into that valley.

Kasumi had a good sense of danger. She had no choice but to listen to her intuition otherwise she might put Lily and herself in danger, but she still didn't know why that would happen.

"Why am I getting this feeling right when I'm about to go save my lover". Kasumi said with a sad expression.

"Maybe this uneasy feeling has something to do with Lily?" Kasumi thought.

She couldn't figure out the reason, so she decided to keep on watching even though it hurt her heart, since she couldn't go save Lily.
