captains POV:
for some reason, today, i've just been feeling sad for no reason. well, actually, there is a reason. player still keeps avoiding me. i try to be his friend, and he just doesnt care at all. everyone takes me for a fool, and im tired of it!
as i was walking through the halls of MIRA, i overheard player and veteran laughing about something.
" i know right? i cant believe he actually fell for that bluff! what an idiot!" i hear veteran say. "i know! like, it was obvious you and mr cheese were the imposters! i cant believe captain still fell for that! even with gnome screaming at him!" player says. im speechless. i cant believe they would say that. veteran? expected, but player? i cant believe.

3rd person POV:
he ran away, warm tears streaming down his face. when he got into his room, he collapses on his bed. he crying even harder now. he's filled with all sorts of emotion. sadness, confusion, hatred. he just wanted player to like him, at least as a friend.

mr eggs POV:
i was walking back to my room, when i heard sobbing coming from captains room. i walked in to check it out. when i did, i saw him sitting back against the wall, crying into his pillow.
"captain? buddy, what's wrong? are you ok?" i ask, worried. " " p-play-yer. he a-and veteran. t-hey were insulting m-me" he says, still crying. "what did they say?" i ask the sad bean. "t-they c-called me an i-idiot, a-and they were l-laughing at m-me!" he said, clearly very upset about what player and veteran said. i knew player was never fond of him, but i didnt think he would make fun of him like that behind his back.
"dont listen to them. they're just a couple of bullies. they dont know the good inside your heart!" i told him. "but, players the only bestie i have, or, had, now i guess. no one in this place has ever loved me! at all!"

3rd person POV:
"that's not true! dont tell yourself that!" mr egg tells him sternly, but sincere. " how would you know! you're not in others heads!" he says back, about to start crying again "i dont need to be in anyones head besides mine to know my feelings for you!" captain was silent for a bit.
"you... you love me?" the white crewmember asks "yes, yes i have. and i have for a very long time. ever since i was replaced by mr cheese. you're perfect" mr egg says, blushing. "im not" "yes you are! you're caring and generous and loving! you're also super funny and kind and hansome! how could anyone hate you?" mr egg says. "wow, you really think so?" captain asks, overjoyed.
"oh i dont think so. i know so"
