"What would you like to have for dessert?" My dad asked, skimming through the menu while I desperately wanted to leave the place as soon as possible.  I hated that Tyler worked here. This was my favourite place and he was invading everything I liked.

"Dad, let's go. I'm not in the mood for dessert." I whined but he wasn't going to take no for an answer. He called Tyler again while I focused my eyes on my empty plate in front of me as if it was the most beautiful thing to admire.

"What would you like to have, dear?" he put me on the spot again and I glared at him before snatching the menu from his hand. There was no point in viewing the menu as I already knew what to order.

"Ummm...I'll have a brownie with icecream." I mumbled, not meeting Tyler's gaze.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Adams. Could you please be louder?"

The nerve of him!

I took a deep breath to calm myself and lifted my gaze to meet his playful one.

"Brownie with vanilla icecream, please." I spoke through gritted teeth and I could see a hint of smile, creeping on the corner of his lips.

"Sure and for you, Mr. Adams?"

"I'll have the same, son." My dad smiled politely and I finally relaxed when he walked away from our table.

"Ugh! He is annoying as hell. You owe me for this, dad." I complained with a frown on my face and all he did was laugh his heart out.

"Relax, dear. Guys can be difficult to understand but once you do, everything will make sense. Don't be so hard on this one."

I bet nothing will make sense about Tyler even if I understood him. I still nodded at my dad and turned my gaze to the kitchen to see if Tyler was anywhere in sight.

"Oh, crap!" My dad exclaimed, making me turn my attention towards him. I found him staring at his phone with a worried look on his face.

"What happened, dad?"

"My flight is at 9.30 and not at 10.00. I'm so sorry, dear. I really have to go now if I don't want to miss the flight." He explained with a sad look on his face and I could sense that he was feeling bad enough already for disappointing me once again and I didn't want to make him feel worse. In one way, the odds were in my favour as well. I felt happy to leave early so that I could escape Tyler's annoyingly adorable face.

"It's not a problem, dad. I get it and maybe next time you can stay for more than a day." I smiled at him warmly even though I hated the fact that he had to leave. I wanted to spend some more time with him.

"Of course, dear. I'll definitely make it up to you the next time." He assured me, squeezing my hand and I nodded at him with a small smile.

"So should we leave then?" I asked, picking up my purse and Tyler reached our table at the exact moment with the desserts we ordered.

Fuck! Talk about bad timing.

"Wait," My dad paused, looking at me and Tyler and he looked like he figured out my master plan, "No wonder you were calm about me leaving early." My dad eyed me suspiciously and I mentally groaned in frustration.

"You are staying and having the dessert. I know you love it so much." He insisted and I scoffed at him for being unreasonable.

"Dad, you can't be serious. I want to go home."

"I don't have time to drop you at home and then go to the airport anyway, dear. So why don't you enjoy the dessert and Tyler could maybe give you a lift later." My dad suggested with a proud look on his face as if it was the best plan he came up with in a really long time.
