Ezra POV

I took a deep breath and sat down on a chair across from Pixie and Ava.

"Good afternoon girls, you're probably wondering why I asked you two to come to the InBESTigators office this afternoon." I said.

"THE BIG ANNIVERSARY!" Ava and Pixie squealed.

"What? How'd you two know?" I asked.

"We know everything." Pixie said.

"Plus, we're the ones that convinced Maudie to have an anniversary this year." Ava added.

"You are? I hate both of you with a burning passion." I said straight to their faces.

"Why?" Pixie asked. "Do you not like anniversaries?"

"I do and I like the concept of it, but I don't really like doing them.." I said.

"Why do you not like them?" Ava asked.

"I don't know... Too much stress. Planning a date and a gift. That's why Maudie and I originally didn't do them." I confessed. 

"Oh..." Ava and Pixie said in unison, slowly looking at each other.

"We'll help you think of a gift." Ava said.

"That's why I called you two." I said. "Now, ideas?"

Ava and Pixie sat in silence and pretended to be deep in thoughts.

"No need to act like you just came up with an idea, just spill whatever you have in mind." I said.

"Well.." Pixie said, slowly smiling.

"Flowers!"

"Long love letters!"

"Homemade cookies!"

"Chocolate."

"Personally engraved accessory!"

"Music box!"

"A picnic!"

I wanted to cover my ears from all the shouting they were doing.

I heard their suggestions, but they don't really scream Maudie to me.

I love her so much, so I really want this gift to be amazing.

"You guys done?" I asked.

"Half, but we want to hear your thoughts so far." Ava said.

"They're alright but they don't really fit Maudie... She deserves a lot." I said, as an image of Maudie popped up into my head.

I always smile when I think of her

But I can't, Ava and Pixie would tease me about it.

At the same time, she is my girlfriend so I shouldn't feel all that embarrassed.

"Awwwww that's so sweet!" Pixie and Ava gushed.

"Whatever, what are your other ideas?" I asked

"Romantic poem!" Pixie said.

"No, I'm no Shakespeare." I replied.

"Aw, come one... maybe something like.. You're eyes shimmer in the light, and wow is it so bright-" Ava said.
