Maddox POV

It’s been three weeks.

Three fucking weeks.

Three weeks of pain. Three weeks of fear. Three weeks of waiting for her beautiful eyes to open.

The doctors took her off her medications two weeks ago, but she didn’t wake up. She didn’t open her beautiful eyes. The doctors did some tests, but they found nothing wrong. They didn’t know why she wasn’t waking up.

Sam kept telling us that her body needed to heal. He told us that she would wake up when she was ready.

But he didn’t sound so convinced in the last few days. I could tell that he stopped believing his own words, and it terrified me. If he wasn’t convinced that she would wake up…

No.

I couldn't think like that. She would wake up. She had to wake up.

I needed to be strong. I needed to be strong for her and for Milo.

Milo was completely broken. I could barely convince him to eat. I could barely convince him to sleep. It was a struggle to get him to go take a shower. He refused to leave her side, and he refused to close his eyes. I was as broken as he was, but he needed me, and I couldn't show it. I had to be strong for both of us. I had to be strong for her.

Sam was a complete mess. He barely slept, and he didn’t leave the room at all.

Ryan was the only one who left the room for more than half an hour at a time. He was dealing with all the legal stuff. I didn’t ask what exactly because I didn’t give a shit. All I cared about was Maddie. All I thought about was Maddie.

I needed her to wake up.

"I am going to take a shower." Sam mumbled as he opened his bag and pulled out some fresh clothes.

I nodded and looked down at my sister.

Her eyes were still closed.

I sighed and caressed her soft cheek.

"Come on, Mads." I mumbled. "Come back, love. We are waiting for you."

I looked up at Milo. He was holding her hand tightly. He was staring through the window with a completely broken look in his eyes.

"She will be okay, Milo." I told him softly. "She will wake up."

He didn’t look at me. He didn’t even react.

Fuck. She needed to wake up before Milo lost it completely. Sam already considered putting him on some meds to help him sleep and relax him a little. Milo fought him on that and told him that he would only take them if Sam took them too.

I looked back down at my sister and took a deep breath. I leaned in and kissed her cheek.

"I miss you, Mads." I mumbled. "I miss talking to you. I miss your smile. Come back, please."

Her eyes remained closed. My heart broke.

I didn’t know how much more of this I could take. She was in a fucking coma. Milo was a mess. I was alone, and I needed them both. I needed Milo. I needed Maddie. I needed them to come back to me. I needed them because I wasn’t strong without them. I was just pretending to be.

Milo moved. He looked down at her hand in his.

He furrowed his eyebrows and tilted his head a little.

"I think that I started hallucinating." he mumbled, making me confused.

What the hell was he talking about?
