Chapter 19: Peter Pan from Neverland

As I walk into the familiar cafe, I physically relax. Now, I'm not one of those white girls who just love starbucks and completely need it in my life. It's just that the starbucks in my hometown is where I always went to, to clear my head.

I walk towards the register and just order coffee because I need something to wake me up, and take a seat towards the back of the cafe. And just after a couple seconds Bailey walks in, orders some sort of frappucino thingy, and walks over to me with determination written all over her face.

"Spill." is all she says as soon as she sits down

"Wow. Good morning to you too." I say sarcastically

"It's not even morning Nicole it's..." She checks her watch "It's 11:30, thus making it almost noon" she states dramatically

"You're so dramatic" I say as I roll my eyes at her

"Yeah, yeah. So... Spill. Now. Every detail. You have 2 minutes." She said in a final tone

I sighed and told her what happened last night and today.

"You know , he's right..." She stared at me and took a sip of her drink

"What? No he's not!" I say shocked that she said that

"Yeah, he is. Nicky you guys were always fighting. And you and I both know why, but Emmett didn't. So what he did wasn't totally wrong." She tried reasoned with me

"And what was the reason why we were fighting so much?" I ask her

"You always brought up the stupid stuff he did, like how he hurt you, yada yada yada. And in the end Emmett wouldn't react the way you wanted him too, you'd cry and then either you'd storm out or he would. But one of the biggest reasons that you guys fought so much is that you loved him so much, but also didn't want to, so you basically started listen to your brain instead of your heart, which caused most of the fights." She stated in a 'duh' tone

"H-how d-did you know all of that? You weren't even there when we fought!" I pointed at her shocked

"Nicky. I've known you and Emmett for a very long time now. I really hope you'd think that I knew you guys a little better in that situation. Plus you and Emmett are basically the same people, which is why you guys can get along so easily, but it's another reason you guys fight a lot." She stated

"Wow." I simply say still in shock

"Listen Nicky, you can't let your's and Emmett's past bother you so much. He came back just to see you again. That has to mean something!" She encourages me

"But..." I trail off

"No buts. Just try and be nice to him Nicky, that's all you have to do. Start from talking about how his trip was-Without getting mad about how he left! And if you do find yourself getting mad about what you guys are talking about, either change the subject or walk away. Please Nicky, I want you to be happy." She pleaded

"Okay. But ummm, I'm not sure if that can happen today. I walked out of a pretty bad argument." I bit my lip

"Just go back and try again. Or just go see your brother! He's probably wondering where you are!" At that I laughed.

Bailey and I talked just for a little while more and bid our goodbyes. But it didn't really matter cause she was going to come over tonight.

So I left starbucks and headed home.
