1st September 1971-The sorting
It was probably fair to say that the sorting of 1971 had given two houses heart attacks.TWICE.
Both Slytherin and Gryffindor weren't expecting who had been sorted into a house.
"Black,Sirius,"Called a woman in emerald green robes.
"Oh my days it's taking forever,"James elbowed Lucia.
"It's been 30 seconds James."
"GRYFFINDOR,"The hat yelled.
James beamed.
The Slytherins started to clap but soon stopped when they realised that the dark haired boy was a Gryffindor.
"Diggory,Aanya."
The hat took a few seconds but yelled out "GRYFFINDOR,"nonetheless.
"Evans,Lily."
The Hat touched Lily's head and instantly called "GRYFFINDOR,"
"Lupin,Remus,"
Like Lily,Remus was instantly sorted into Gryffindor.
"Meadowes,Dorcas,"
"RAVENCLAW,"
"McKinnon,Marlene,"
"GRYFFINDOR,"
"Malfoy,Lucia,"
Lucia breathed in and glanced at her brother,who nodded at her.
She walked up to the stool and the hat was placed on her head,the rim obstructing her view of the older years.
"And where should I place you?"The hat spoke loudly in her head and she almost jumped.
"Malfoy.Should be a Slytherin.Doesn't seem like it though.,"
"What do you mean?"
"You're brave but reckless.Ambitious and cunning.Courage is the quality that stands out the most."
"Better be GRYFFINDOR."
And the first person Lucia Malfoy looked at when she was sorted was her older brother and sister.
Lucius Malfoy was choking.
Narcissa Black was in shock.
Bellatrix Black had a look of utmost surprise on her face.
And Natalie Malfoy was even more shocked.It was almost as if she had stopped breathing.
Lucia went and sat next to Sirius.
"Potter,James"
"GRYFFINDOR,"
James Potter had the biggest grin on his face as he took a seat between Lucia and Lily.
Lily took one look at him and shuffled away.
She clearly recognized him from the Hogwarts Express.
"I'm going to be disowned,"Sirius wailed dramatically.
"Same here bestie."Lucia muttered.
"How are you a Gryffindor,Lou?"Lucius' voice was in her head.
"I don't know,But mother will kill me,"
"Are you going to write home and tell her or should I?"
"You write,please,"
"Ok,"
The rest of the students were sorted.
And the feast began.
"Welcome back to Hogwarts!"Dumbledore said,his voice magically amplified,"This year's Head boy and girl are Frank Longbottom and Natalie Malfoy.There is now an extended list to the one that was previously on Mr Filch's door.The Forbidden Forest is of course, Forbidden.I'd like you all to welcome this year's DADA teacher, Arabella Fisher."
There was a short round of applause.
"Off to bed now.You have a day full of classes tomorrow.Pip Pip,"
