Satan

It's now Thanksgiving break, where we get a week off from school and where I get to be anywhere else besides the attic. Today, family is coming over and I couldn't be more excited. Although my emotionless expression doesn't show it, deep down I am.

I love seeing my Aunt Cass, she's the best. She always brings me something. She doesn't treat me differently and I'm very comfortable around her. She's my mom's sister and I'm glad she's nothing like her. She's the mom I want.

Aunt Cass has three kids. Dina is 17 with black hair and blue eyes, she looks the most like Aunt Cass. Uriel is 12 with brown hair and green eyes. Ariel is 10 and she was adopted three years ago, she has blonde hair and blue eyes.

She's also dating a man named Seth, who in my opinion is way better than all her other exes. He's no one like the loudmouth jerks she's dated. I wait patiently for them to arrive after doing my daily chores.

My brother comes out of nowhere and begins to throw air punches all around me. He does this daily to the point where I don't flinch. He makes the "tsk" sound as he punches inches away from my face. He's so annoying.

"So I need to know if that girl you've been hanging out with like guys too," he says sitting down next to me. Angel had told me that he went up to her, but I didn't tell her we were related. That's embarrassing.

I also know that Angel is a lesbian and has zero interest in guys from what she said. My brother has never been told no before so he'll keep trying until he gets what he wants. Which is dangerously annoying.

Like I've said, I don't blame him. I feel bad actually. If only he was raised the right way and able to do things his age would do. I mean my parents do everything for him. His homework, laundry, driving, and even picking out his clothes.

My brother isn't good at football but the coach puts him in due to my parent's money and what they do for the school. I would be surprised if they did the finals for him or even bought his way to good grades. I shake my head and he sucks his teeth and pushes me. "Whatever, that's why you get no bitches."

No bitches, seriously?

My brother has no concept or understanding of who I am. My mom is too busy in her world and trying to do her best to care. And my dad, he finds me disgusting and yells at me constantly. I try my best to compress my feelings and maintain the same face throughout the day. The only people who have gotten me to genuinely smile are Izzy and Angel.

Now I've only known Angel for a couple of weeks but there's something about her. Her name replays in my head and her smile gives me butterflies. I can't wait for our next session. The door rings and I fast walk to open it, knowing who's on the other side.

I smile grows on my face as I meet my eyes with my aunt. "If it isn't my favorite kid, come here," I bring myself to her embrace and feel her arms wrap around me. Her warmth gives me a sense of comfort and I listen to her steady heartbeat.

I don't get hugs often so when I do, especially from her, I feel secure and safe. The hug lasted for a while before she broke it to step inside. I move so she can come in and I close the door behind me. "So how's school?"

I shrug my shoulders as we walk to the island. She sits her stuff down and sits down herself. "No words yet?" I shake my head and sit down next to her. "Well, I just for promoted."
