"Oh my god! What happened to your faces, guys?" Ma'am Pitogo exclaimed as Caleb and his group entered, with a bruised face.
I was taken aback, my eyebrows furrowed in confusion kaya siguro hindi sila naka attend ng foundation day.
It was as if they had engaged in some sort of basag ulo pero wala naman sa itsura nila Caleb na mahilig makipag basag ulo.
"Walking wound eh." Lian couldn't resist mocking them.
I half expected Caleb's group to fire back, but to my surprise, they simply bowed their head at umiwas ng tingin kay Lian.

"Is that why you didn't attend the foundation day? Now I get it. I'm so disappointed with you guys my girl- ehem e-hem Ma'am Ly said since you didn't attend and participate in any activity, you'll be having a 4-day community service to pass her subject. Understand?" Did she just refer to Ma'am Rocas as "my girl"? Is Ma'am Pitogo gay? I brushed the thought aside, now wasn't the time for such that.
Baze seemed about to defend themselves, but he was cut off. "No, ma-." Caleb began to say at siniko ng mahina si Grant, but their attention shifted towards us, especially to Lian, Caizen, Quin and Kyll who were grinning mischievously.
Kivriel, however, looked at them coldly.
"Yes, ma'am. We apologize," Caleb answered, and they all bowed in unison.
Weird. It felt like just yesterday they were ready to tear each other apart sa tuwing mag kakasagutan sila.
"Okay, take your seats. Let's start the lesson," Ma'am Pitogo declared, and the class settled in for a 3-hour Ethics lesson.
After an hour delving into the foundational principles of ethics, Ma'am Pitogo announced a partner activity.
"We're having an activity today by partner, anong gusto n'yo kayo pipili ng kapartner n'yo or ako na lang? she asked.
The class erupted into chaos as students shouted to be paired up, some even suggesting Ma'am Pitogo herself.
"Kami na lang, Miss!"
"Kayo na lang, ma'am!"
"NGITI N'YA HO!"
"KAYO NA LANG MA'AM, NA SA KABILANG SECTION GUSTO KO MAGING PARTNER!"
"Okay, children! All of you, stop! Quit! Shhhhhh," pag-saway ni Ma'am Pitogo na may kasamang paghampas sa lamesa.
Nanahimik naman ang mga kaklase ko sa pag-sigaw nito at kaniya-kaniyang ayos ulit ng mga upo.
"Y'all act like children, oh my god, you're already college students! Ako na ang mamimili, listen carefully. I will call your names one by one at magiging partner n'yo then will proceed to instructions. Hindi 'to individual gradings ha, kaya you should participate wholeheartedly sa magiging partner n'yo." saway ulit nito.
"Kivriel and Allyna" Ma'am Pitogo first called our names.
Nablangko na naman ang utak ko.

I thought to myself.
Tumingin naman ako sa kaniya.
Kivriel and I exchanged glances, and I felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness.
