*Damien's P.O.V*

I couldn't help but feel guilty for making him jump that badly. I was just helping him clear some of the sauce off of him and the next thing I know Nathaniel is hyperventilating on the ground and Alec carrying him out of the lunchroom after he had passed out. He told me is wasn't my fault but I couldn't help but feel like it was my fault.

That was two days ago and I still haven't seen Nat at school and it scared me. I searched for him in the hall and finally saw Alec walking with his backpack slung loosely over his shoulder. I jogged over to his side, grabbing his arm.

"Alec," I said.

He looked up in surprise. "Oh, hey Damien, need something?" He asked.

I bit my lower lip. "Is Nathaniel okay?" I asked. "I mean... I know I kind of hurt him because I didn't register what I was doing when I did that and well now he's not at school and I can't help but feel like it was my fault for driving him away and now you seem angry and every-"

"You babble a lot." Alec said honestly. He playfully punched my arm. "Nat's fine, he didn't feel like coming yesterday and today he had an appointment." He said.

"I do babble when I'm nervous. Sometimes they don't even make sense!" I exploded, throwing my hands in the air. "What appointment is Nat at?" I asked, finally slumping my shoulders in defeat.

Alec shrugged. "I don't know, he just said he had an appointment." He averted his gaze to the ground before sighing. "Nat and I were planning on going swimming tonight, if you want to come. Simon will be there too." He said with a smile.

I nodded eagerly. Maybe tonight I can get Nathaniel to talk to me. Yeah, that's my ultimate goal right now.

*Alec's P.O.V*

I could tell Damien was changing Nathaniel. I mean for God sakes he playfully shoved me in front of the jocks! He never does anything like that! Not even in front of his parents has he ever done something like that. I kind of wanted to see where Damien will take this. I mean if he gets Nat to talk to him, I will applaud him and give him giant kisses for getting Nat out of his comfort zone. It was all up to tonight. Nat never joins us with swimming, especially not shirtless cause of the scars he endured that painful day 4 years ago. If he does join us, it will be a miracle.

*Nathaniel's P.O.V*

Once we got back from my psychiatrist, I started packing my bag of my swim trunks and a giant beach towel. I was kind of excited to go since it was just gonna be Alec and I. It made me feel good that I can finally talk to just my best friend without anyone being there. His parents are out of town right now so it was the perfect time to take advantage of his pool.

I got down the stairs with my backpack slung across on of my shoulders and it strapped across my chest, resting at my side. I sighed mentally when I saw my mom agruing over the phone. Probably to my dad. See they got a divorce 6 years ago and can't even stay in the same room together without breaking into a fight.

She slammed the phone down hard and grunted loudly. She turned to me and her face softened. "Sorry sweetie," she said and saw the bag on my shoulder. "Oh where are you going?" She asked.

"Out," was all I replied.

She smiled sympathetically. "To where?" She asked.

"Alec's," I said.

She nodded. "Sleepover?" She asked. I nodded. "Well be safe, honey." She smiled again before walking into the livingroom and plopping on the couch. I looked away and opened the door, closing it as I walked down the street. Alec lived roughly fifteen minutes from me by walking. It wasn't that far to walk which I was thankful for.

Once I got there, my heart dropped in my chest when I saw Alec, Simon and Damien sitting on the lawn in a triangle, laughing at something Simon had said. My throat tightened as I immediately wanted to turn around and book it. Could I run? I mean they haven't noticed me yet, I could turn tail and ru-

"Hey Nat!" Alec cheered happily.

Shit.

I walked slowly up to them and plopped as close to Alec as I could and my eyes immediately wandered to Damien who was smiling at me. I looked away feeling a blush come onto the tip of my ear. Why was I blushing? I never blush. What the hell?

"So, shall we go swimming?" Alec asked. Damien and Simon cheered and ran into the house leaving Alec and I on the front lawn.

"Are you gonna swim?" He asked, his voice filled with sympathy.

I shrugged. "I don't know, I'll get dressed but I don't know if I'll actually swim with you guys." I said honestly.

He nodded. "You can use my room we will be in the back." He said.

I nodded and went into the house and up the stairs into his room. I closed the door and took off my black skinny jeans, my converse, socks and boxers, sliding on the swim trunks. I glanced down at my black shirt and sighed. I opened the door and walked down the stairs. I opened the back door and saw Alec on the side of the pool, his hair wet as Simon was laughing at Damien who was singing at the top of his lungs.

"I'D CHIME IN! HAVENT YOU PEOPLE EVER HEARD OF! CLOSING A GODDAMN DOOR NO!" he stopped when he saw me his smile sending warm chills down my spine. "Oh, Hi Nat."

I was about to open my mouth to reply back to him, but stopped myself. I walked over to the edge and sat there, pulling my knees up to my chest. I didn't want to swim. Not with them watching me.

Damien swam over to Alec and grabbed his wrist, throwing him into the pool with a splash. He resurfaced and glared at Damien. "That was rude!" He shouted.

"I never said I was nice," he said with a smile.

"Oh that's it, Simon help me dunk this dick!" Alec screamed. Simon chuckled and swam over, both of them jumping on Damien's shoulders. He didn't budge and instead laughed.

"I'm like a rock and taller than both of you, I shouldn't be going down easily like you prat's." He said. A small smile touched my lips at the Merlin reference and he laughed.

"I can't believe how strong you are! You are like a fucking rock!" Alec shouted.

"Told you, didn't I?" He asked.

I sighed. I kind of wanted to get in and join them but then again, I didn't. What would they think of me? Would they try anything?

"Hey Nat, you gonna come in?" Damien asked. I looked at him, seeing his eyes shine with hope. I looked at Alec who searched me curiously.

I removed my knees from my chest and turned so I was facing the pool. I gulped down spit and slowly took off my shirt. I tossed it to the side and slowly slid into the pool, keeping close to the wall until I could feel the ground under me. I gasped at the coldness and looked up to see Damien smiling widely and Alec staring at me in shock. I made my way over to Alec and he just smiled.

"You actually got in," Alec said.

I nodded.

Damien smiled at me and slowly reached a hand out to me but I winced back. He brought his hand back and just smiled. "Glad you got in." He said.

I looked up at him and felt a smile start to form on my lips. I looked away from them and just started going towards the shallow end, observing them from here. I noticed Damien looking at my chest and back with major concern. I shrugged it off and looked away from him. Alec swam up to me with a smile.

"You are slowly changing, Nat. I like it." He said.

I shrugged. "I just wanted to swim, is that so bad?" I asked lowly.

He smiled. "Somethings changing you. I don't know what, but something is changing you. I hope whatever it is makes you the same old loud mouth Nathaniel you once were." He said, offering a smile.

I glanced up at Damien who was shoving water in Simon's face and laughing as he did. Was he the one who was changing me? Was he the one who is making me start to forget my past? No... It has to be something else...

Right?
