Grace POV:

Fallen leaves crunched under my shoes as I made my way across the dirt path. A chilly autumn breeze flows through my long brown hair that cascades down my back, sending shivers down my spine. Little unwanted goosebumps appear on my pale arms due to the chilly weather.

The colorful leaves that are scattered across the vacant road was a sharp sign that indicated the arrival of autumn; which was once my favorite season.

I walk down the same road I have gone through every year for the past two years. The same road that seemed endless, going on for miles and miles. Surrounded by trees, dirt, and pure nature. Any signs of civilization seemed extinct.

The world seemed empty.

My world seemed empty.

I take a seat on the dirt covered floor and look around. I had been traveling for 2 days now without many stops, just the occasional trip to the bathroom if there was a gas station nearby.

I observe my surroundings, noting that there isn't anything but trees covering the vast valley. I notice a small stream nearby and take small steps there to freshen up. I quickly wash my face and stop to look at my reflection through the crystal blue water. Through the water I see my empty brown eyes and pale face staring back at me. I tuck pieces of my long brown hair behind my ear and start to head  back.

After a few more minutes of resting I get up and continue walking down the same path.

Most 19 year old werewolves at my age would be living happily with their packs, possibly even with their mates, but not me. I've been a rouge since the raw age of 16. Having everything torn away from your life change a person drastically. If you asked me today whether or not I was the same person I was three years ago, the answer would be no.

Truth is, time doesn't change a person, trauma and past experiences do. But I guess thats what makes us into who we are and shapes us into what we are to become.

Being on my own at such a young age has taught me a lot of things, long gone is the happy young girl with the dream life.

After a vicious attack on my pack that left everyone but me dead, I have changed. Losing everyone that was important in my life at a young age left me weak for a while, slowly, I began getting back up on my own feet. Fending for myself and keeping myself safe. From that day on, I became a new person. The change in me wasn't because I was left alone or because I didn't know what to make out of myself anymore. It was because everything thing that was known to me was ripped out of grasp and burned into flames, taking the old me with it. All that was left behind was a pile of ashes of what used to be my old life.
