WARNING: LOTS OF FLUFF AND SWEET DEAN PROCEED WITH CAUTION

You let out a sigh, eyes closed and hands clenched into fists by your sides. Stay strong. Your mother's voice repeated in your head, her voice sounding like a sweet angel who came to rip you from hell.

"Stay strong." You opened your eyes. You watched as your lips moved to speak the mantra. "You can do this. Stay strong." Your eyes closed again. taking a deep breath you slowly unclenched your fists and massaged your aching knuckles. "You're safe." Slipped out of your lips. E/C eyes opened once again to look at your form in the dark mirror. You couldn't gain the strength to turn on the lights and see the features that resembled your parents. Sometimes you wish you could take a knife and carve jagged lines into your face so you wouldn't have to see your mother's eyes looking back at you or your fathers thick hair waving with every move.

"It's just a day. Nothing more." You took a step back and ran a hand through your hair, letting out a shaky breath. "You are strong." With one last look to the mirror you exited the bathroom and then the motel room. You walked to the small diner across the street, restating stay strong in your head as many times as you could.

"Hey honey, what can I get you?" A kind elder lady queried you, holding a notepad in her hand and a soft smile on her lips.

"Just coffee please." You forced out softly. She gave you a concerned look before flipping the notepad closed. She put a hand on your shoulder and patted it lightly.

"It'll be alright." You smiled sadly at her as she walked away with your order written down and a piece of your heart in her hands. The air conditioner turned on, turning your hair slightly as you looked down at your hands in your lap, lips forming silent words. It'll be alright. Stay strong. A bell sounded as the door opened signalling new customers. You looked up and saw two men covered in plaid. With a shake of your head you looked back down, pulling your hood over your head and laying your head down on the table.

Your coffee was set in front of you and you gave the waitress a soft thanks. Eyes fell on the back of your head but you didn't seem to notice as you took a sip of your coffee with your head still on the table. Quickly you sat up straight, finally feeling the eyes on the back of your head. You sighed and slowly laid your head back on the table. It's probably just some perv. Your hands clasped around the mug, searching for warmth in this forever winter that follows you. As you went to take a sip of your coffee, a smell wafted over you that reminded you of your mother. Your eyes watered as you breathed in the flowery perfume.

If only she was still here. She could help you through everything that you never had someone for. No, she's gone. Don't think such foolish thoughts. You reprimanded yourself in your head. You wiped out your eyes to get rid of any oncoming tears, still feeling eyes on you. But you ignored them; they would go away, they always do. No one ever glances at you for too long. They most likely can feel the heartache wafting off of you.

"Here's some pie for you hun." A voice said, breaking you out of your thoughts. You looked up with eyes narrowed in confusion as she set the plate down in front of you.

"I never ordered pie." You muttered, giving the pie a wary look. She laughed joyfully before pointing behind you. You followed her finger and saw a man with bright green eyes wearing plaid and a smirk.

"The gentleman right there ordered it for you." She walked away as the man got up, giving you a wink before going behind the counter. Your eyes followed the man as he walked towards you and sat on the other side of the booth.

"Hey." He spoke, setting his arms on the table and leaning forward. You couldn't look away from his eyes; they were as green as pine trees. They held pain in them, much like yours did. He must have seen a lot in his time on Earth.

"Hi. No offence, but why did you order me pie?" You queried. He chuckled and shrugged.

"Because you looked like you needed a slice." He replied. "I'm Dean." He added on quickly as if he forgot to give you his name. You nodded and looked down at your coffee swirling in its mug.

"Y/N." You answered back, laying your head back on your arms and looking up into his eyes. "Now care to tell me Dean, why you are here? I thought I looked pretty content on my own." He shook his head at your statement, confusing you.

"You looked far from content sweetheart. It looked like you just got your heart ripped right from out of your hands." Dean explained. He pushed the plate of pie closer to you. "Now eat this or else I will myself." You chuckled softly, picking up the fork and taking a small bite out of the pie.

"That's really good." You voiced around the pie chunk in your mouth. Swallowing it quickly you straightened your back. "Thank you." He smiled genuinely at you.

"Anything for a fellow hunter." His words made you freeze. You looked at him with wide eyes, the fork halfway to your mouth with another bit of pie on it. Dean noticed your change and pointed at the necklace that laid peacefully on your bust. "That kind of tipped me off considering I have a tattoo of it." You looked down at the necklace before looking back up at him, nodding softly as you took another bite. "You want to go for a walk?"

"Huh?" You pronounced before clearing your throat. "S-sure I guess. Why not?" Dean smiled at you as you dug through your wallet to leave some money. He gave his brother a signal before putting a hand on your back and leading you out of the diner. The both of you walked in silence for a bit before he broke it.

"What are you sad about? And don't tell me you aren't sad." Dean stopped walking, pulling you to sit on a bench with him. You looked up into his green eyes for a moment before sighing.

"It's the day my family was killed by demons." You muttered, looking down at your hands twisting and turning in your lap. "If I was faster they would probably be okay-" Dean cut you off by grabbing your face with his hands softly.

"It's not your fault. There was probably no way you could be faster." He sternly told you, forcing your eyes to look into his. Your eyes watered, and before you could stop it a tear slid down your cheek. Dean pulled you into a hug as you softly cried, letting out all the feelings you had kept bottled up inside.

"N-no one's ever told m-me that." You stated through sobs. He squeezed you to his chest tighter, beginning to rock back and forth. Once you had wiped your tears you pecked his cheek gently. "Thank you." Left your lips in a whisper. Dean just smiled gingerly and pulled you back to him. He kissed your head and smoothed out your hair.

"You don't need to thank me Y/N. Just a stranger doing a favour and telling you the truth." Suddenly you laughed into his chest and shook your head lightly.

"To think two strangers can can comfort each other better than anyone they know can." You smiled. He grinned back, pulling a lock of hair behind your ear that was waving in your face.

"Then why don't we not be strangers? Instead be people who can soothe your worries away with a small gesture." He suggested. You chuckled and nodded.

"Why not?" And thus a bond was born that could never break, no matter the challenges that the two souls would face. They would be forever together, just two once upon a time strangers.

I think this is the longest one shot I've ever written. GO ME!

It didn't turn out how I planned it to, but somehow I like this better than what was supposed to be.

Ps I bought chocolate that is supposed to taste like pie but it didn't. I am upset. I wanted chocolate that tasted like pie. World Market had failed me.
