Chapter 9

Nova woke slowly, groggy from deep sleep. She focused her eyes on her surroundings. She wasn't in her bed, she realized when she saw the bed covers. Her bed covers were purple, not black. She stiffened when she heard the soft snore coming from behind her. Someone was in the bed with her! She panicked as she slowly turned to see who it was.

She felt instant relief when she recognized Sarina laying beside her. But, that didn't help her nerves when she looked around the strange room. It was almost completely bare except for the cast iron bed they were in.

No pictures on the walls, no stereo's, in fact there wasn't any personal effects of any kind. Where were they? She wondered, How did we end up here?

Then last night's events hit her. She remembered going to the club, fighting with a drunk and.... Oh my God! They were kidnapped!

Her mind was frozen on the image of Seth with red skin and black wings. She started gasping for breath as she clutched her chest, she looked back over the room. Where their beds in hell? Her mind reeled. She knew now that Sarina was right. Seth wasn't human. He was utterly and completely inhuman. She caught a glimpse of his true nature last night, and it terrified her.

Her hand shook wildly as she reached over to wake her sister. Did Sarina remember what had happened last night? She couldn't have imagined it. She wasn't that imaginative.

"I am never drinking, ever again" Sarina groaned miserably.

"Sarina get up. We are in trouble!" Nova whispered urgently.

"The only thing I think we are in trouble with is that I might puke all over you if you keep shaking me. Stop Nova" she grumbled as she turned away from Nova.

"Sarina Get Up!" she shoved Sarina hard.

"Nova that is it! You know I had a hard time last night and you giving me this attitude isn't..." Sarina stopped short when she finally looked at her sister's panicked face. Her headache throbbed in her head, Her eyes felt like someone had dounced them with salt, but when she saw how freaked out her normally rational sister was, all of that was forgotten.

"What's wrong Nova?" she started panicking herself as she took in the room around her, looking for the source of Nova's fear.

She relaxed when she saw that they were alone in a room. No threat there she calmed herself. Wait a minute... something was off. She looked around again, there were no weapons lying around her on the floor, no person beating down her door. What was..? Then it hit her like a ton of bricks. She grabbed Nova's arm in awareness. That weren't in her room! They weren't even in their house!

"Nova," she swallowed, "Where are we?!"

Nova watched her sister as she finally realized they were in danger. She would have snapped at her sister for   taking so long to figure it out, but she was too freaked out right now.

"Do you remember anything about last night?" she asked instead.

"I remember us arguing," Sarina looked over at her sister, "I remember going clubbing," she swallowed "and I remember margaritas. Lots of margaritas.." she groaned with obvious suffering.

"That's it?" she asked incredulously.

Sarina thought back to last night. Flashes of images were all that she could remember. Seth was there, she vaguely remembered the louse. But an image of the hottest guy she had ever seen filled her mind. Tall, with silver blond hair and the clearest blue eyes, eyes that melted your resolve. She really hoped he wasn't a figment of her imagination, that would be just wrong. She would never drink again if her mind turned that cruel on her. She gave an exaggerated sigh, of course he wasn't real! She wasn't that lucky. Damn.
