A few month's later:

"Sarina what are you doing?" Nova sighed, standing in her sister's doorway.

"I'm packing what does it look like I am doing?" Sarina tosses out, knee deep in her closet. Clothes were thrown everywhere.

"Look, you don't have to go, we've been through this..." Nova sighed, entering the room stepping over the boxes scattered about.

"Oh yes I do." Sarina answered throwing clothes over her shoulder, "If your leaving this one horse town so am I."

"Sarina just because I finished school early doesn't mean you don't have to finish. You have your entire Senior year to go!"

"And I can finish online. Nova we've already been through this. If your moving New Orleans then so am I. We've already found that great apartment. Are you backing out now?" Alarm, made Sarina pause, clothes in hand turning back to her sister.

Seeing Nova's indecisive face she narrowed her eyes. "I am going" she said each word threateningly. "You know how much I hate this little town. How long I have waited to move." she spat. Then she paused as a thought hit her. "Unless you don't want me to go with you."

"No! Of course I want you Sarina. Of course. It's just that I'm thinking of all the things you are going to miss. The senior trip, the prom..."

"The same things you will not be at either.." Sarina interrupted her.

"Yes, but I have Seth and you know that I couldn't leave him behind."

"Are you saying that just because I don't have some angel freak of a boyfriend that I have to stay in this god awful place?" she snipped, she hated it when it was thrown in her face. Great, Nova had somebody when she didn't. No need to rub it in.

"I'm not saying that," Nova quickly rejected her words, almost too quick.

"Well what are you saying?" Sarina growled putting her hand on her hip.

"I..." Nova looked around the messy room, "Never mind. Just don't forget anything" she shook her head, turning to leave the room.

"Nova?" Sarina called out before she left, when her sister turned she asked, "Is there a reason for me not coming?" her voice careful.

Sighing Nova leaned against the door, deep in thought. Finally she looked up at her sister. "I don't know I just have this weird feeling. Like something bad is going to happen."

"It's just nerves Nova," Sarina tossed down the clothes, walking over to her. "This is a big change. We're finally getting out on our own. We're both eighteen now. You knew this day was coming.." she soothed, regretting her earlier thoughts.

"But what about Grandpa?" Nova asked as a tear fell.

"I know, I feel bad too." Sarina added. "But, he'll be okay. You know he will."

"Did you see his face when we told him?" Nova's lip trembled.

Sarina remembered the sad look on his face when they told him the big news. That they were moving to New Orleans. Nova was entering the university, and she was going to get a job and finish her classes online. After all she only had a few credits left, before she too was done. She didn't want to stay behind, only going to classes for an hour a day to finish. No, she was ready for other things. Just as her sister was.

They both loved their grandfather, they truly did. He was everything a parent should be. And he was their parent. He had to be after their parents had died so many years ago in a car accident. But, now he had to let them go. It was a part of life.
