Jade Otterson is the best bodyguard there is. Or at least, she likes to think she is. In her defence, she's only behind about 742 people in the world. But she doesn't let that stop her from telling her family and everyone else that she is the best bodyguard there is.
Ethan Black is who she is assigned to protect. After a chance encounter that ended with both of their asses behind bars, she is determined to make him pay. Not with his life, of course. She is supposed to protect him.
But as late night conversations become routine and Ethan's laughter begin to fill her days, Jade isn't all that sure Ethan's life should be the only thing she's protecting. After all, isn't the best way to protect your heart to pretend you don't have one?
