"This is it." I stated as we stated at the large building in front of us.

I turned to James to gauge a reaction.

Stone cold. No emotion.

"Cmon." I spoke and began to walk.

He didn't follow.

"No one can see me."

I tried to look past his hoodie that was covering most of him.

"Why not?"

"Someone's looking for me too." He answered.

"Oh. Okay. Umm. Im sure there's a back door I can sneak you in."

He nodded.

I pointed to the exit and entered the building.

I sprinted down the hall straight to my room.

I had to hide the file on Bucky along with the map.

I also had to make it look like my fictional ex boyfriend was here looking for me.

After I pushed a few things over and made a mess, I ran back down the hallway to the back door and let Bucky inside.

I began leading the way to the room.

"It might be a wreck, crazy ex looking for me and all. Just prepare yourself."

I opened the door, and we both stopped in our tracks.

"He's really outdone himself this time." I said in a whisper.

"He's done this before?"

I nodded,"A few times."

"Some piece of work you've got there." He mumbled under his breath.

I rolled my eyes.

"What can I say? I'm a sucker for a man with blue eyes?"

I teased as I looked over at Bucky and batted my eye lashes.

He scoffed.

"This here," I pointed,"Is your bed. The bathroom is right there." I pointed again. "Feel free to use anything in there. Also all the food in the fridge is up for grabs. Cook whatever you want, eat whatever you want, do whatever you want. Stay as long as you'd like James. I'm here indefinitely so as long as I'm here you can stay. You really helped me last night and I want to do the same."

He nodded, there was a smile in his eyes. "Thank you."

I smiled and plopped onto my bed.

I grabbed my phone and rummaged through it.

Pierce: We can have a private plane at your disposal.
Me: I'll definitely need it. I'll keep in touch.

"Sorry if I was an asshole to you yesterday." James spoke.

I looked over at him.

He was sitting on his bed, hands in his lap as he fiddled with his fingers.

"No don't worry. I can be difficult, besides, I completely inconvenienced you. You were still nice enough to let me stay."

"I guess."

"Don't worry James, I don't hold it against you."

I hold all that killing and hurting people against you.

Piece of shit.

I smiled.

"I'm gonna take a nap. I didn't sleep too well last night."

He nodded and I rolled over and pulled the sheets over my head as I quickly drifted into dream land.

Or nightmare land.

Every time I closed my eyes I was back in Taiwan.

People were running and screaming.
They were covered in blood and ash.
Some were crying out the names of their loved ones that were lost.

So many people were hurt.

"Stephanie.." a voice said.

I was shaking.

"STEPHANIE!"

I sprang up panting and gasping for air.

I finally opened my eyes to see James looking at me.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

I nodded as I tried to regain my composure.

"It was just a dream. It will be okay." He coaxed.

I nodded again.

He jumped up and walked over to the kitchen quickly grabbing me a bottle of water.

I nearly chugged the whole thing as my throat felt dry and constricted.

"Better?"

I nodded. "Thank you."

"I have the same problem. Nightmares are awful but they aren't real."

I shook my head,"That." I paused. "That was real. I was there. It was real."

"Do you want to talk about it?" He offered.

"No Bucky." I coldly responded. It was partially his fault.

He nodded and walked back to his bed.

I laid back down and tried to sleep again.

This time without the nightmare.

When I woke this time it was mid afternoon.

I sat up and looked around.

The room was empty.

Shit.

I jumped out of the bed and looked around the room.

Where the hell was James?

Sorry for the short chapter I thought it was a good place to stop. Tell me what you think about it so far. My anxiety is killing me.
