The day of his death may have been the last time John Laurens got up from his sickbed to do something stupidly reckless, but it certainly wasn't the first time. No, the first time he did that was then he was a kid. And nobody is surprised because John Laurens.
So the story goes that when John was a child, he was suffering from a fever. And yet this little shit somehow climbed on top of some houses to see the progression of a fire, pretty much risking his life on the process. Which is something we keep seeing him do over and over again for the rest of his life.
