Chapter 15

Sarah

     I didn't expect him to come with me.
     I can't believe I asked him to walk with me.
     I'd never admit it to anyone, but I think I'm starting to fall in love with Elliot Alderson.
     I don't even want to admit it to myself.
     Part of me wants to ask him about himself, to get to know him better, but everything is holding me back from asking him anything.
     So we just walk in awkward silence.
     Before I even know what I'm doing, my hand reaches for his, and before I can pull it away, I hear him say "Don't touch me."
     But for some reason, I can't pull my hand away. I'm trying to pull my hand away, but something is telling me to keep my hand there. I know I have to move my hand, but yet, I can't.
     And yet, he doesn't seem to be making a move to push my hand away either.
     He sighs. "So, Sarah?"
     I smile. "Yep. That's my name."
     He nods. "Elliot."
     Okay... why are we introducing ourselves to each other again?
     "Thought I would break the awkward silence between the two of us," he says simply, almost as if he were reading my thoughts.
     I laugh, and that's when I see him smile.
     I feel my knees go weak because his smile, as rare as it is, is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
     There's no denying it: I have a wild and untamed crush on Elliot Alderson.
