This is based on a song I really like. Hopefully this amuses you :)

-Niall's Point of View -

Waiting. Palms sweating profusely. No matter what, I'm going to do this. I check my wrist watch. I've been waiting for ten minutes, where is he? I sat down against the bench outside our classroom. It'll be worth the wait, I hope.

People passed by me without even a glance. I tapped my foot against the tiled floor, unable to control my anxiety.

"Niall! Sorry I got held up. Anyways, what did you want to talk to me about?" Liam walked over.

He's so cute. I've fancied Liam ever since I started uni here. He's sweet and smart. And so bloody cute! His chestnut brown hair is shaggy and he's wearing his clothes for running track. He has no idea what a big deal this is for me. He's relaxed and cool, while I'm just not.

Well this is it. Now or never.

"Oh...right. I was just wondering, if you weren't busy....that maybe you'd like to go out some time? For a cup of tea or something...?" The words sounded even more embarrassing as I said them out loud. Already said them, can't take them back, I told myself.

I saw the familiar uncomfortable look on his face. I've seen it so many times. As soon as he hesitated, I knew what was coming.

"I'm sorry Niall but you're not really my type and-"

"Nevermind. It was stupid. Forget this happend please." I stood up and speed walked away.

How many times am I going to get rejected? I thought I was through with that in highschool but I'm in college and it's still happening! It's like a nightmare that won't end!

I reached my dorm and finally breathed a mournful sigh. Honestly, it's like living alone, my roommate is never here. And I mean never. I haven't even met him. I'm starting to doubt whether he truly exists or not. I've grown accustomed to the loneliness though.

A light knock on the door surprised me but it could only be one of two people.

"Come in!"

"Hey Niall."

It's just Zayn. A friend I've met here in college. We seemed to click right away much to my surprise and probably everyone else's.

"How did it go with Liam?"

I shook my head. I don't feel like talking about it.

"It's okay. There's a million guys here so don't worry!" He said with a pretty smile.

Of course he could be positive. Good-looking lads like Zayn ooze positivity. Zayn is so beautiful. I don't even know why he hangs with a nobody like me when he could be in a fraternity with handsome bloke clones like him. He should go be with his own kind.

"I need to take a nap. All this misery takes a lot out of me." I said.

He nodded solemnly and left.

Laying down in bed, I had to wonder. Is it because I don't dress like an American Eagle model? Or do I make myself impossible to approach? Why do I always get rejected? What's the reason?

There's only one boy who hasn't run away after meeting me. And that's my bestest friend Louis. We're childhood friends. He goes here too.

I wonder what he's up to now. I haven't seen him all day. I could picture him now, buttoned up Abercrombie shirt, glasses perched on his upturned nose, messy brown hair always easily styled, he's most likely chatting up all the popular kids.
