UNEXPECTED

Chapter sixteen- Kyle's in hospital

It had been two days since I've picked Hunter open and I just can't get Kyle's heartbroken, crying face out my mind. I hate seeing him so upset, I still do love him after all I mean he was my husband. It was half 11 and River had just put Hunter to bed for, he walked into our bedroom as my phone started ringing.

"Hello"

"Hello is this Mrs Davies?"

"Yes this is she, who's asking"

I heard river growl obviously because i referred myself still as Mrs Davies, well until we was divorced I was still Mrs Davies.

"Hi I'm Dr Collins from the St George's hospital, your husband Kyle has been brought in"

"Oh my god is he okay?!"

"He's been badly beaten up, he was also very intoxicated when he arrived and had some sort of drugs in his system. He's been asking for you ever since he woke up"

"I'll be there, tell him I'll be there in the next hour"

"Okay thank you Mrs Davies"

I hung up the phone. I looked to see River dressed.

"I'm coming with you Ava, and don't bother telling me no. I've mindlinked mom and she's watching hunter she's had a few of the men carry his crib into her room for the night"

River had come with me when I went to pick Hunter up and I guess that just set Kyle off, I knew he loved me and he wasn't about to let me go, he had told me that when I told him River was waiting in the car for me.
We quickly got dressed, I said goodbye to Hunter and we raced off towards the hospital, why would Kyle even get himself into a fight that was never like him. I needed to speak to Brice.

"Ava, hi"

"How is he Brice, and don't bullshit me. Tell me the honest truth"

"He's pretty bad, we had gone out and some of the lads from a pack over started saying things about you and how you've left him for a better alpha then he would ever be and Hunter would soon grow up to call River daddy instead of him, it kicked off after that and there was five of them"

"Where the fuck was you when it all went down"

"I was in the toilet, I came out and Kyle wasn't at the bar, the bartender told me he had gone outside with the five boys following him. I went out there and told them I had called the pack and they was on their way so they ran off. He was unconscious when I got to him but he's came around a bit now"

"What was he seriously thinking Brice!"

"Ava it's just he's down since you left!"

"We're like five minutes away, I'll see you inside"

"Alright bye"

We pulled up outside and River told me to go in he would meet me up there after he found a parking space. I ran up and asked for Kyle Davies room number, they told me. I walked into the room and saw how badly Kyle looked. He turned and at least he smiled at me.

"Ava!"

I walked over and gave him a hug.

"I missed you Ava!"

"Kyle I was only at you're house about 8 hours ago"

"I know but I never know what to do when Hunters left. I'm so lonely"

"I know! You know we need to find you a girlfriend"

"There's only one girl for me and she's gone now"

"Kyle.."

"Alright I'm sorry Ava, I won't talk about it anymore"

"So tell me why did you get in a fight with them boys?"

"They was saying rude things about you and at the end of the day, you're still my wife I wasn't about to let them say that. They then said that Hunter calls river dad at the pack house and that was the final straw. He's my kid not Rivers"

I only just realised that Kyle had said at the pack house meaning rivers pack house. I was about to find out.

"Who's pack was they from Kyle"

"I'm not sure maybe a few over"

He knew I knew he was lying, Kyle's lying face was so stupid, he would always look to the floor.

"Kyle. You do remember we was dating for 6 years right? I know you're lying face. Now tell me"

"I don't want arguments caused though"

"There won't be"

"It was rivers pack"

"I knew it!"

"Ava I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been fighting with them but they was just taunting me so much about Hunter calling river dad and I won't allow that"

"Kyle I wouldn't either, you're Hunters dad nobody else"

The nurse walked in and told us it was time I went, I promised Kyle I would come and visit him tomorrow because we was staying here until Monday morning.
I walked out the room to see river sitting on the chairs. He looked up when he heard someone approaching.

"Ready?"

"Yeah let's go"

We drove to the nearest hotel and checked in, when we was in bed I told River that somebody in the pack had told Kyle that Hunter calls River dad, and he even said he would get to the bottom of it. I just hoped everything would work out soon because this moment in life was stressful.
