It had been 4 days since Kyle had been dead, I still wouldn't talk to River. If I had just rejected him I would still be married to Kyle and Kyle wouldn't be dead at the moment, Hunter was the same as me he wouldn't let anyone hold him but me, he would scream if I wasn't holding him and he hated river near him. I slept in the baby room with Hunter I wouldn't stay in the bed with river. Hunter would constantly call for his dad but he won't ever see him anymore, I still haven't opened my letter that Kyle wrote me. I knew I had to at one point but I just couldn't bring myself to do it, this was all my fault I should have never left Kyle.
I was sitting in the baby room when I made up my mind I had to leave river, me staying here was betraying Kyle. I couldn't be here anymore and I wasn't going to stay. River came in the room and saw me packing Hunters clothes.
"What are you doing Ava?"
I could tell he knew what I was doing and it broke my heart to break his but I had made my husband kill himself and I couldn't live with that.
"I'm leaving River, I've got to go home"
"This is you're home Ava"
"No, no it isn't. My home is where Kyle is"
"Ava.."
"River do you not see we caused Kyle to kill himself, I knew leaving him would do that to him, yet I still left. I hate myself for what I've done. Hunter will know grow up with no dad because of us"
"I'll be there for him Ava, please just don't do this! I'm begging you. Don't leave me please"
"RIVER I HAVE TO! You're not his dad and nobody could ever take Kyle's place not even my mate. Leaving is the best thing to do. Hunter knows his dad is gone he cries constantly and won't let anybody but me hold him, I can't deal with that anymore!"
"He's fine with me Ava!"
"No he isn't!"
I noticed River walk towards the bed Hunter was laying on, he picked him up and just like that he cried. I walked over and took him.
"See river I can't do this anymore, I'm so sorry"
"Ava please, I love you"
He didn't just tell me that.
"Goodbye river"
And I left.
