"But whyyyy" y/n whined as her boyfriend waved the DVD across her face
"because we always watch the movie you choose and you always choose romcoms, it's me turn this time and I choose this" Alex smirked
"but you HATE horror" y/n exaggerated
"I don't hate horror. I don't watch them because you get scared to watch them " he said
"I am not scared. Horror just does not happen to be my genre" y/n stands up from couch trying to get the DVD from her boyfriend's hands while he holds it higher up away from her reach.
"uh oh, not happening, we are watching horror. End of story " he declared
"If you get scared, you can always cuddle with me" he whispers into y/n's ear huskily
"Dream on" Y/n huffed and went and settled on the couch while Alex set the movie up and came to occupy his place beside her.

as the movie played on, y/n wasn't that scared. Truth was, she used to watch a lot of horror movies as a kid but had outgrown them. the movie that they were watching, she had already devoured it 4 times. it was Alex's first time. he was jumpy. what she observed was that he wasn't also a fan of horror...
"babe, are you scared?" y/n asked
"..no..." he said defensively
few more scenes passed by, and as the ghost suddenly appeared y/n heard Alex scream and cover it up with a cough. she smiled and asked once again "what's wrong?"
"nothing, bad food I guess" he made up
"you sure you're not scared?" y/n clarified
"no!" muttered Alex clutching the pillow closer to his face, his gaze fixed to the television "why? are you?"
she thought for a moment and said: "now to think about it, I kind of am Alex. do you mind if we snuggle up in a blanket?"
"if that's what you want" he smiled widely
they held hands within the warm blanket and fell asleep on each other before the movie credits rolled.
