Raven's pov:

I was meditating in the training room when I felt a presence entering the room. I could tell it was Damian so I stopped my morning meditation and spared him a glance expectantly for a reason as to why he interrupted my routine. He took the hint and spoke up. "Morning raven, my apologies for interrupting your meditation, however I have a proposition for you." I raised an eyebrow to indicate for him to expand. "As you may know, it is Donna's birthday in a few days and I was wondering wether you wanted to combine gift ideas?" He asked. "Your basically asking if I want to team up to buy Donna a birthday present." I clarified. "Yes." He simply replied. "Sure.... I haven't got her anything yet anyway so that sounds like a good idea." I said. "Rather to my irritation, coming up with a suitable gift idea for Donna is not in my range of expertise." Damian admitted. I simply laughed in response. "And what is so amusing about that?" He questioned, getting slightly agitated at my strange response. "Sorry, I just found it funny how hard it was for you to admit something your not good at!" I laughed again briefly, reminded of his big headed personality. "May I remind you that I was not brought up to celebrate unnecessary occasions such as getting a year older." He pointed out. "Point taken." I excepted. "Well in that case, our best option is to visit the shopping mall and look around if there is no specific ideas." I said keeping my voice low in case Donna was to walk in and overhear. "Gathering my knowledge from gifts my father has bought friends and brief love interests, I think that Donna would appreciate an item of jewellery, as it is sentimental and good quality." He suggested. "That actually sounds like a descent idea." I agreed. "Damian, for the record, coming up with gift ideas is in your expertise." I stated, granting me the luxury of seeing Damian genuinely smile, which I rarely got to see and strangely made my heart skip a beat. "You should smile more often." I thought out loud. Having nothing to say, Damian just gave me a small nod before leaving the room, leaving me with silence to process our conversation. After I finished my meditation, I went into the kitchen to be greeted by Donna herself. "Good morning Raven! How was your night?" Her cheerful tone always lighted up the room. I laughed internally at how she was the complete opposite to Damian, remembering his cold attitude compared to donna's warm tone. "I had a peaceful sleep, thanks for asking Donna." I replied sincerely. "No probs.... I'm guessing you came in here to have your earl grey tea?" She guessed correctly. "Yeah." I replied whilst occupying myself by making my craved early morning tea. The only titans that actually got up this early except for me were Damian and Donna and sometimes Jaime, if he wasn't staying up all night playing video games with Garfield. Five minutes later, I sat down on the sofa next to Donna, and we just chatted which was really easy because she is social, which I envy. "Mothers meeting!" Connor joked. "Wanna join?" Donna invited Connor. "Why the hell not?" Connor replied, sitting down next to me and Donna on the sofa with a cup of coffee in one hand and a croissant in the other. Looking at Connor's croissant made me rather hungry so I indulged myself to one as well that were neatly displayed on the kitchen counter. They were delicious, obviously kori didn't make them! But I would never tell her that. I assume Dick Grayson did, as he is a lot better at baking and cooking. As if Connor read my thoughts, he joked "This croissant is delicious, I think we all know that kori didn't bake these!" We all laughed until kori walked into the room, then we all shut up in case the Tameranian would catch us criticising her baking skills. "Morning Titans, I see we are enjoying breakfast?" She said in her jolly tone that only she possessed. "Yes... who made these?" I dared to ask. "Dick did, with the help of Garfield." She replied, helping herself to the freshly baked french pastry. Ha I was right! But still relieved because we were all aware that kori's cooking skills we terrible, bringing back memories of the attempts kori made to make home cooked meals that ended very badly and we had to order takeaways in the end. Not that I minded. Damian was the only one who had the guts to mention it though, the Tameranian princess was not pleased. Eventually, all of the Titans woke up and ate breakfast and then kori said she had an announcement to make, excluding Connor and Donna, who had already gone out together for the day, which will be later explained. We all gathered in the training room, including Dick, who just came back from his run outside, which he does every morning. Just like every announcement, kori did the speaking. "I would like to speak to you all about my plans for today.... I was thinking that since all of you haven't got Donna a birthday present, we should go to the shopping mall to shop for gifts. Connor has kindly volunteered to take Donna out today, as he has already got her a birthday present. Does anyone have any questions?" "What is the budget if there is one?" Garfield asked. "It is your own money so it is up to you , however I recommend it be between $10-$40, I have heard that Damian and Raven are buying a gift together, so it is up to them if they want to pay double the price and split it between them." Kori answered, receiving a nod of agreement from Garfield. After getting ready and cramping into kori's car, we eventually headed for the shopping malls. "Hey Damian would you mind not bashing me with your sword?!" Jaime asked sarcastically. "I am just being prepared, which you lack the intelligence to consider." Damian snapped. "We are all going to get along today so pack it in!" Kori told them off . "Yeah Damian, I don't think you will be needing that in a public shopping mall." I added. Instead of backing kori up, Dick was texting on his phone, receiving a light shove from his girlfriend which he undoubtedly deserved. He looked up apologetically, and Kori smiled excepting his apology, shortly after, returning her eyes to the road. "Damian, just leave the sword please, we won't be out for too long." Dick added. Damian knew that he lost this argument and chucked his katana in the boot of the car. After another awkward fifteen minutes, we at-last got to the mall and paired up ( Kori and Dick, Jaime and Garfield and me and Damian obviously.)and went our separate ways. Me and Damian visited a lot of jewellery shops and shared our opinions, sometimes agreeing and sometimes disagreeing on things we liked. And after an exhausting three hours of looking , we decided to buy Donna a beautiful charm bracelet with personalised charms and split the money between us. I then called Kori telling her we were successful and at that time every one had finished buying Donna's gifts so we met up at the centre of the mall and we showed each other what we got. Beast boy got her a wonder girl action figure of herself, which we all found amusing but a good idea at the same time, Jaime got her some T-shirts she requested, and Kori and Night wing got her some makeup and heavy duty hair straighteners because she accidentally broke her last one. We all decided to go to Starbucks and get milkshakes and snacks and then headed back for the tower. Donna and Connor already came back and Kori just said that we had been doing secret stuff she cannot yet know about. Donna and Connor explained their day out which they went ice-scatting and I got to admit I was a little bit jealous. They seem to have recently built up a nice bond, similar to what me and Damian have, I think they will later on be a couple. After a nice evening of training , watching Die Hard and Titanic (where we all shed a tear except of course for Damian) On a side note, what irritates me is that there was enough room on that door for Jack and Rose! And then we played board games and ordered pizza and then departed to do our own things. Me and Damian went to the top of the tower where we usually go for peace and quite because it has become our favourite calm place to go. "I'd say we made quite a good team buying Donna's birthday present." I stated. "Yeah , however it was an unpleasant experience." Damian stated flatly. "You love shopping and doing activities other than training don't you?" I asked sarcastically. "Training is enjoyable because it is a distraction from your day to day life and being prepared to fight is vital for victory." He replied turning to face me. "I see what you mean." I agreed. "Your the only one who seems to understand me, Raven." Damian stated. "I feel the same way as you do Damian." I replied looking straight into his captivating eyes. His emerald orbs were enchanting, filled with both rage and beauty. He stared back at me, then noticed his stare lingered too long and looked away with a tint of pink dusting his cheeks. I looked away blushing as well. It was a special moment we had where I felt truly connected with him. I felt butterflies fluttering in my stomach at the thought. It was starting to get dark outside so we went indoors smiling at each other, enjoying each other's company finding it a comfort just being the two of us.
