"I'M SO GLAD they're still doing this," Kie said as she led her friends through the crowded field.

She had roped Jo, Pope, and JJ into coming to the rich side of the island for an outdoor movie event, and none of them were very excited about it. Pope was still terrified of Topper and Rafe, JJ could care less, and Jo was on the run from DCS. John B was still MIA, and Jo couldn't help but wonder where he was and what he was doing.

"Keep calm, carry on, back to OBX life. Aren't you glad I made you come?" She continued.

"Ecstatic," Pope deadpanned.

"My couch was pretty comfy," JJ admitted.

"No," Jo sighed. "I'm still technically a fugitive, you know."

"Oh, please," Kie scoffed. "They'll never think to look for you here."

She flashed Jo a wide grin and the girl rolled her eyes.

"We're out of the green zone, man," Pope whispered as they set up their chairs.

"Dude, tranquilo, okay?" JJ hissed back.

"We're in the middle of Kooklandia," Pope grumbled worriedly.

"Pope, chill," Jo whispered. "It's gonna be fine. They won't try anything in public."

Pope scoffed. "You sure about that? This is the last place I want to be."

"Join the club," Jo muttered.

"Shut up," JJ hissed.

"Jo, come on," Kie called.

"Behave, ladies," Jo said sarcastically as she ran to catch up with Kie.

The two girls walked up to the concession stand and bought cokes for the four of them. Jo turned to head back to her seat when Rafe cut her off. She couldn't help but roll her eyes as he towered over her.

"Rafe," she said slowly, raising her eyebrows at him in question.

"Hey, what's up?" He asked nonchalantly. "Kie," he noticed towards her. "What's up? How are you?"

"Oh, you mean since you hit me in the face with your golf club?" Jo sassed.

"You got in the way," Rafe snapped.

"Right," Jo drawled.

"Speaking of that, uh, tell your boy that we know what he did," Rafe hissed.

"I'm sorry, what boy are you talking about?" Kie questioned.

"Oh, he'll know," Rafe said.

He flashed them a sarcastic smile before backing away.

Jo gave him an annoyed look and shrugged. "Okay," she said, dragging out the syllables.

She grabbed Kie's wrist and dodged Topper as they sat back down. Kie gave her a questioning look, but the brunette ignored it.
