The Secrets We Keep - Taekai

Good afternoon,
We've been wanting to share a secret with the world for the past few months but have never been able to find the words or the correct way to do so. We still aren't entirely certain on how we wanted to share it when sitting down to write this letter, but it's past time to be honest and open. Everyone's seemed to take notice of the fact that we've both had to postpone our work schedules for the time being and there's a very important reason for that decision to have been made.
To many people we're known as EXO's Kai, SHINee's Taemin, or Super M's Kai and Taemin. We're also known as Nini, Jongin, Jonginnie, Tae, Taem, and Taeminnie.
To two new little people we're now known as Appa and Daddy.
We were wanting to tell the world about our plans to become parents before we actually became parents. However apparently our two little boys were too eager to come into the world and came seven weeks early. As it is now, we were still supposed to be having a couple weeks left before our sons joined us.
Our little family has already gone through a lot in the couple weeks since our twins joined us, we've watched them get bigger and stronger already and can't wait for the journey to continue.
When the time comes we look forward to introducing our twins to the world, but for now we're asking for privacy as we continue to navigate taking care of our wonderful sons as they progress and eventually come home.

Surprising to Jongin, the news was taken pretty well. Most of the posts that he had seen online seemed excited or happy for them. The next couple days had gone as easily as they could and they had finally gotten a hopeful discharge date for the twins set for a week out.

They had also began to take turns leaving the hospital to go do errands and stock up on smaller clothes and diapers for the twins.

Jongin sat back down beside Taemin and held out a small box, "Got you a little something. Before you open it, you already know my stance on taking things further between us - so it's not that. But I thought we could use a little something to represent us as a couple and as a family."

"Well with that as a description, I already know what it is and I also know not to expect that from you for a long time." He said, taking the box from Jongin's hand. He took the ring out of the box, smiling. "So question for you, if it isn't that then which finger do you want me to wear it on?"

Jongin took the ring from Taemin, rolling his eyes playfully. He took Taemin's left hand and slid the ring onto his ring finger, holding up his own hand where a ring that was similar was already placed. "I just wanted something to symbolize us."

"Two babies weren't enough?"

Jongin laughed, leaning over and kissing Taemin slowly. "Okay so I wanted you to be able to look down at it whenever you want to and remember that I love you."

"Once again two babies weren't enough of a reminder than you love me?"

"Taem..." Jongin whined, shaking his head.

"Oh shush. I love it and more importantly I love you too." Taemin said, smiling. "It's perfect, Jongin. Thank you."

"You don't have to thank me. I just wanted to do something a little special for us because we can't take the next step right now and even though we can't - that doesn't mean that I'm not just as invested as I would be if we could do that. I'm just as committed as I would be if we could get married."
