Chapter 24: Sing & Walk-off

“Tita?” I knocked in by the living room, finding Tita Eugene folding clothes by the couch.

“Oh? Tapos kana?” She said, then she checked the clock hanging by the wall.

“Opo eh.” I spoke, wiping off the grease in my hands with a dirty cloth.

“Osige iho,” She stood up and walked into the kitchen. “Mag mirienda ka muna oh.“

“Ay, no thank you na lang po tita.” I said, followed by a smile. “May gagawin pa po kasi ako eh.”

“Ay ganun ba?” She pouted, “Sayang gagawan sana kita ng homemade pizza ko. Sigurado ka ba?”

“Opo eh.” I chuckled. “Medyo importante po kasi ito.”

“Osya sige.” She said, then she walked back into the living room.

“Kamusta naman po si Tito Jose?” I asked.

“Ayun, tulog parin hanggang ngayon.” She laughed, “Buti nga ikaw wala kang hangover.”

“Eh hindi po pwede tita eh,” I chuckled, “Alam ko po kasi na kailangang magpunta dito sainyo para ayusin yung kotse ni tito.”

“Ahh, oo nga.” She said, “It’s good that you know your responsibilities.”

“Uhm, tita?” I said, “Nasaan po pala si Alli?”

“Si Alli?” She said, “Nagpaalam siya sakin kanina na doon daw siya sa Teahouse.”

“Teahouse?” I said.

“Oo, kasama niya daw si Heart.”

“Nako, patay tayo diyan.” I murmured.

“Mm, bakit mo naman natanong?” She asked.

“Uh…” I said, scratching my forehead. “Manghaharana po kasi ako sakanya mamayang gabi eh.”

“Harana?!” She giggled, then she clapped her hands twice. “Naku, kinikilig nako para kay Alli!”

“Eh tita,” I said, “Anong oras po kaya siya uuwi?”

“Naku, hindi ko lang alam.” She said, tapping her finger onto her chin. “Bilin niya sakin kasi kanina na gagabihin daw siya dahil aabangan daw nila yung live band doon sa Teahouse.”

“Live band?” I pointed out.

“Oo daw, live band.” She said.

As soon as I got out from Alli’s place, I reached for my pocket and brought out my phone and called Jude.

“Jude.” I said.

“Oh, ano na plano?” He responded.

“Change of plans tayo, bro.” I told him, “We’re hitting up at The Teahouse tonight.”

“Tapos ayun,” Heart laughed, “Nasundot ko tuloy yung mata dahil sa toothbrush.”
