"Ah, so you're a one-night stand kind of guy?" I smirk to myself and turn my head to the side
"Yep, pretty much get laid every party I have" his laugh was just, I do not know what, but I missed it
"You don't do the serious type of thing, huh?"
"Nope" he shook his head
"And why's that? Some girls break your heart and you said you'd never let that happen again?" I laugh out, I was thinking that is what happened. I mean come on, with the way I left him
"Your right on the dot" his smirk and smile dropped, and he looked down
I wanted to cry. I wanted to tell him I was sorry and that it was not me choose to leave, but I kept to myself. He cannot know, ever.
"What about you? Where is the baby daddy to that cute kid you have? To be honest she looks a lot like you, except the eyes" he changed the topic so fast, I wanted to say he's standing in front of me or something like that
"He doesn't know about her" I say drinking some of my beer
"Do you know where he is?"
"Yep" I say popping the 'p' "Why are you interested in my kids' father?" I snap
"Just curious" he shrugged
"Tessaaaaa" in walked what seemed to be an already drunk Hadley "Oh hey Ash" she laid her head on his shoulder
"I thought we agreed you'd stop calling me that" he looked down in disgust at the nickname
"Aww Ash, are you embarrassed?" I joke, he just shot me a look that could kill
"Alright time to go" I say grabbing her arm and throwing it over my shoulder and lifting her light ass up "Let us go drunkie"
"Do you need help?" Asher offered
"Nope, I got her. Besides don't you need to go find a college girl?" I half joke, he did not smile, and I just walked away
~ I woke up to my alarm. I sat up in bed and looked around, 'why'd I come back?' Was the only question running through my mind? 'I had a good home and a stable job, so why did I make us leave?' I got up and headed for the bathroom. 'Why'd I come to this house? I could have just sold it and got another' I brushed my teeth and then got into the shower
'Was it because I wanted to see if he was still here? Was it because I wanted him to meet her? Or maybe it was because I want to know if he missed me, like I miss him?' So many though were running throw my head. I quickly changed and went to wake Hazel up; I peaked in and saw her playing with her race cars
"Hey Hazel" walking in I pick her up "Let us get you dressed, and you can go over to Mrs. Daniels house"
"Yes" she clapped her hands, I laugh. Soon we were downstairs, I made a lunch for her and got her bag pack for tonight
She was staying all day and staying overnight. I am working at the dinner today and I have a race tonight. I mean I am working a double shift today, soon someone is going to figure out it is not a double shift. We finished eating and headed over to Hadley's house, I promised Hadley I would give her a ride to school for her last day
I pull up to the house and cut the engine to my car, I get Hazel out and take her to the front door. I knock, not even a second later the door opened to reveal him 'Why was he here?'
"Oh hey" I nod to him and Hazel ran right in
"Haz" I call "You can't just run into someone's house" I yell walk in, he closed the door chuckling
"She's got to be a handful"
"You have no idea" I face palm and let out a breath "She doesn't get it from me, she may look like me, but she gets her genetics from her father"
'Why did I just say that?' He laughed a little and we walked into the kitchen where Hazels trying to get a cookie. Mrs. Daniel just handed her one and sent her out back to play with the other two kids. They were younger than her
"Please forgive her, she's got a lot of energy this morning" I set Hazel's bag on the counter and sit in a chair
"Give it back"
"I don't have it"
"Yes, you do, I watched you steal it" it sounded like Ryder and Hadley were fighting over something "MOM!"
"What Hadley?" He mother called
"Ryder stole my phone and won't give it back"
"Ryder give the damn phone back. She's going to be late for her last day of school" I heard a grunt and then a laugh
"Hadley let us go! Or I am leaving your butt. I have to get to work" at this point it was just Asher and I in the kitchen. Mrs. Daniel went outside
