CASSIE LUPIN was nothing special, in her own opinion. Sure, she was a thirteen-year-old witch who had not attended any sorts of wizarding school, spell-casting class, or anything of the likes. She and her father resided in a small flat just off the coast. They spent their nights playing board games and heading to the ice cream shop at the end of their block—and Cassie was perfectly content with her life of such means. She wouldn't have traded it for the world. At least, not until she got a letter telling her that she had successfully been enrolled into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and her entire worldview flipped upside-down in a simple school year.
HARRY POTTER was famous, despite how much he hated the attention. He was the Boy Who Lived, after all, and oh, how the people loved him! They viewed him as a hero, simply for existing. Harry was not okay with this observation—on the contrary. If he had it his way, he would be just like every other wizard. But he didn't have it his way, and that much was obvious—the simple lack of understanding he held for the wizarding world made all of the attention much, much worse. Harry would have preferred living in an cupboard than be in the spotlight anymore. (Which, by the way, he'd already done.)
WHEN HARRY MET CASSIE, she showed him that fame and fortune were both merely concepts, simple ideas that he could debunk in the blink of an eye—all it took was ignoring the attention.
WHEN CASSIE MET HARRY, he showed her that perhaps there's more to life than strawberry ice cream with her father and pretending like she was okay with not being okay.
WHEN THEY FELL IN LOVE, everybody saw it coming except them.
