"Shut up, and hand it to me." I took a step back, as his body shook. He had never cussed in all the years I have known them.
Handing the remote over he took it and shook out the batteries. They hit the floor with a thud turning into six legged mechanical spiders.
"What--"
He stepped his foot on them before they could scurry away. "They knew we would try to steal the remote, they were spying on us this whole time. This is a fake."
He threw it across the grass, not caring if anyone saw it, and tried to follow us. "There are only three remotes left to transport to the future." Looking up from the plastic covered remote in the snow he said, "And we will get one of them. I'm not living in this hell anymore."
