It's been almost a month since the announcement of the Triwizard Tournament and almost Halloween, the time where our guests from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang would arrive. You were currently sitting in DADA, the first class of the day. You were sitting with Fred, in the middle of the classroom and right behind you, there was Lee and George. Everyone was quiet, it was an uncomfortable silence really, all you could think of was how you will manage to survive till lunch. Suddenly, Moody spoke.

"Alastor Moody." He looked around the class then turning around, picking up a chalk and writing his last name on the green chalkboard behind him. Once he finished, he turned around to face the class again, puting his hands on lower back. "Ex-auror. Ministry malcontent. And your new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. I'm here because Dumbledore asked me, end of story, goodbye, the end. Any questions?" The class was silent. "When it comes to the dark arts, I believe in a practical approach." Some students glanced each other. You gulbed silently.

"First, which of you can tell me how many Unforgivable Curses there are?"

"Three, sir." A Ravenclaw girl named Astrid Hale said from the front of the class. You knew her personally as she was your study buddy and would always study with her in the courtyard or in the library. She had beautiful golden brown hair reaching her shoulder blades. She also had big round hazel eyes with long lashes and a fair skin tone. You found her to be a very nice and calm person yet you could hear the fear in her voice when talking to Moody.

He turned again at the green chalkboard and started writing the curses "And they're so named?"

"Because they're unforgivable. Astrid continued. "The use for any one of them will earn you-"

"-a one-way ticket to Azkaban." Moody interrupted her, turning around to face the class once again. "Correct, Miss Hale. Now, the Ministry says you are too young to see what these curses do. I say different! You need to know what you're up against! You need to be prepared! You're old enough! So, which curse shall we see first? Miss Black!"

"Yes sir?" You looked at him straight in the eye, trying to seem unafraid.

"Stand." You stood up. He was observing your face, taking in almost every detail. "Finally, to put a face to that name. How's your father? Sirius Black."

You shrugged. You knew your father was hiding somewhere with Buckbeak since you two would write letters to each other all summer. "I-I don't know, sir."

"Give us a curse."

"Uhm, the Imperius curse."

"Correct!" You sat down as he turned around to pick up a spider from a glass vase. You took a deep breath. Fred, immediately rested his hand on top of yours, squeezing it. He smiled reassuring you that everything would be fine. Your heart skipped a beat and you felt like time had stopped for a quick second before laughter filled the classroom. You turned around to see the spider, under the influence of the Imperius curse of course, on top of Adrian Pucey's hair.

"Get it off of me, you idiot!" He yelled at his fellow Slytherin who was sitting beside him. Moody left a quick laugh before turning to Lee, moving the spider on top of his chest with his wand. Lee, freaked out but tried to stay still. More laughter filled the classroom.

"Talented isn't she?" Moody laughed. "What should I make her do next? Jump out of the window?" He moved the spider quickly from a student to the window. Everyone stopped laughing. "Drown herself?" Said Moody, moving the spider to a bowl full of water, her feet trying to stay above water. The spider now was moved from the water to Moody's hand. The whole class was speechless.

"Scores of witches and wizards have claimed that they only did You-Know-Who's bidding under the influence of the Imperius curse. But here's the rub- how do we sort out the liars? Alright, another, another! Come on."
