"In Dreams" by Roy Orbison echoes through the vehicle. Wednesday and Hades sit in the back of the family hearse. They watch with disgusted faces as their parents seductively sing to each other, making severe eye contact. Hades fears they might witness the creation of their younger sibling right in front of their eyes. Wednesday closes her eyes in irritation and suddenly, birds begin to smack against the windows of the car. Hades and Wednesday lock eyes, and share an exasperated look between them. Their parents, oblivious to the disgust on the faces of their children, inch closer to each other before finally closing the gap. A few uncomfortable moments later, Hades clears his throat, causing Morticia and Gomez to separate from their heated embrace to look at their son and daughter.

Hades is the one to break the agonising silence, "Normally I would be fine with torture, but this just takes it too far."

Morticia shoots her son a stern look, which is enough for him to know that he should probably shut up before his mother actually kills him. The Addams matriach turns her attention to her silent daughter. "Darling, how long do you intend on giving us the cold shoulder?"

Wednesday lifts her head to glance over her shoulder. "Lurch, please remind my parents that I'm no longer speaking to them." A grunt is all she gets in reply.

Gomez leans forward in his seat. "I promise you, my little viper, you will love Nevermore. Won't she, Tish?"

"Of course. It's the perfect school for her."

Wednesday does not hesitate to retort back, "Why? Because it was the perfect school for you? I have no interest in following in your footsteps. Becoming captain of the fencing team, Queen of the Dark Prom, President of the Séance Society." Hades sniggers at the idea of his sister doing any of those things. Wednesday promptly delivers a swift kick to his shin to shut him up.

"I merely meant that finally you will be among peers who understand you. Both of you. Maybe you'll even make some friends."

"Good luck with that." Hades mumbles under his breath, knowing how unapproachable and unfriendly the Addams family can seem to people.

Their father decided to chip in, ignoring Hades' unhelpful comments. "Nevermore is like no other boarding school. It's a magical place. It's where I met your mother. And we fell in love."

Hades rolled his eyes as his parents leaned in towards each other again, as if in a trance. Just as their lips were centimetres away from touching, they were interrupted by Wednesday.

"You guys are making me nauseous." She spits out, before adding, "Not in a good way."

"Darling, we aren't the ones who got you expelled-"

"Ah, yep! That was me!" Hades announces, smirking proudly and sticking his hand up to take the credit. He then turns to his sister. "You're welcome by the way." Wednesday simply chooses to glare at him as his signature smirk rests on his lips.
