Minty: They've said they'll give me CBT to work on my self-esteem, and they said they'll find an LGBT therapist for me
Minty: Though they gave me another referral to be assessed for adhd 💀
Zerk: That's really good! I hope it all goes well for you
Zerk: Wait, that's not what they were assessing you for, though? How'd they decide that?
Minty: Apparently, I showed some "indicators"
Minty: They also thought I had emotional disregulation, but they said that's a common adhd symptom, so with the indicators I showed, I should get assessed for that before they consider other possibilities
Zerk: Did you ever consider that you might have it?
Minty: I always knew I was quite emotional, but I had no idea that was linked to adhd
Minty: I just thought I had lots of energy and got fidgety because I wanted to play football
Zerk: Well, at least if you do have it, they've caught it and can get you some help for it
Zerk: The other thing you can do is speak to the school, tell them you're getting assessed, and they'll give you an EAA screening
Minty: What's one of those?
Zerk: Exam access arrangements screening, they'll see if you need anything like extra time, rest breaks, a separate room, etc
Zerk: Do that now rather than waiting for the doctors to get back to you. You'll probably get what you need in time for our exams
Minty: Ah, okay, I'll get that done then. Thank you 🤍
