Simon's POV:
Josh and I walked back in silence. I was still trying to calm down from my fight with Weller, and he was probably still feeling shaken up.
When we got to mine, he followed behind me up to my room.
"Sit down, Josh. You must be in pain." I said in a gentle tone. I softened immediately as soon as we were alone, I knew he was safe, and I didn't have to guard him.
"I can't believe you did that for me." He whispered, sitting down on the edge of my bed.
I stepped in front of him, giving a warm but sympathetic smile as I looked down at him.
"I don't know if you've noticed yet, Josh, but I'd do anything for you." I said, holding one side of his face in my palm, stroking his cheek with my thumb, my eyes locked into his the entire time.
"How did you know it was me?" He asked.
"Because I saw that look on your face when I told you where I was sitting in assembly. As soon as you looked at me, I knew it was you." I smiled.
"You're okay with the fact that it's me?" Anxiety crept into his tone.
"More than okay with it, Josh." I whispered, leaning down to kiss his forehead.
