As I woke up to the soft morning light filtering through my curtains, a sense of peace washed over me. It was a new day, and for the first time in what felt like ages, everything felt right.

I couldn't help but smile as I went through my morning routine, the weight of yesterday's tensions lifted from my shoulders. Nathan was back home from the hospital, his laughter echoing through the house as he chased the dog around the living room.

Isaac and I had patched things up last night, our conversation paving the way for a renewed sense of understanding. It felt good to have him back in my corner, his presence a reassuring pillar in my life.

Even Jackie seemed to be in good spirits, despite her little jogging mishap yesterday. I couldn't help but chuckle as she recounted her misadventure, her animated gestures bringing the story to life.

And then there was Cole, ever the knight in shining armor, coming to Jackie's rescue when she got lost in the woods. It was just like him to swoop in and save the day, his genuine concern for others shining through in everything he did.

As I made my way into the kitchen, the smell of coffee and bacon greeted me, a comforting reminder of the simple joys of home. Will and Katherine were already at the table, engaged in quiet conversation as they sipped their morning brew.

"Good morning, Y/N," Will greeted me with a warm smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Sleep well?"

I returned his smile, feeling a sense of gratitude for the little moments of domestic bliss that surrounded me. "Morning, Will," I replied, pouring myself a cup of coffee. "I slept like a baby."

Katherine nodded in agreement, her gaze softening as she looked at me. "You look better than ever, dear," she remarked, her voice tinged with affection.

I felt a blush creep into my cheeks at her words, touched by her kindness. "Thank you, Katherine," I said, a genuine smile spreading across my face. "I feel better than ever."

And as I sat down at the table, surrounded by the people I loved, I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, I had everything I needed to face them head-on. Today was a new beginning, and I was ready to embrace it with open arms.

As I settled into my seat at the kitchen table, enjoying the warmth of the morning sun filtering through the window, Will cleared his throat, drawing my attention.

"Y/N, I have some exciting news to share," he began, his eyes sparkling with pride.

I looked at him curiously, my interest piqued. "What's up, Will?" I asked, unable to contain my curiosity.

With a smile, Will turned to Katherine, his expression filled with admiration. "Mum, do you want to tell her, or should I?"

Katherine chuckled softly, a twinkle in her eye. "Go ahead, Will," she replied, her tone playful.

With a grin, Will turned back to me, his excitement palpable. "Mum has been named the Vet of the Year in Silver Falls!" he announced, his words ringing with pride.

My eyes widened in surprise, a smile spreading across my face. "Wow, Katherine, that's amazing!" I exclaimed, genuinely impressed. "Congratulations!"

Katherine beamed at my words, her cheeks flushing with pleasure. "Thank you, Y/N," she said, her voice filled with gratitude.

I nodded, feeling a swell of pride for Katherine's achievement. "You deserve it," I replied sincerely. "Your dedication and passion for your work are truly inspiring."

With a round of applause from Will and me, Katherine's smile widened, her eyes shining with happiness. As we basked in the glow of her success, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to celebrate alongside my second family. Today truly was a day for joy and celebration.
