Rafael and I had arrived in St. Bart's after a long 4 hour flight from JFK to the airport in St. Maarten's, and from there, we had to take a short helicopter ride onto St. Barthelemy's Island. I was extremely excited to finally get to stay in the Carribean, and Rafael smiled at me as we got out of the helicopter and said, "You excited?" I nodded eagerly, and he laughed. He sighed happily and added, "We have a week and a half to ourselves." I knew that Rafael was still on call regarding cases that are still open that he was prosecuting on, and I knew that Liv was probably going to call me at some point to check up on me and fill me in about what's going on in the office. Even though both of us were still on call, I knew that we were going to have a great time relaxing and spending some quality time together.

After a long day of traveling, we finally got to relax. Our suite at St. Barthelemy's, Le Sereno, was absolutely beautiful, and I was taken aback by the view. We were right on the Grand Cul-de-Sac Beach on the Island, and the sunset was absolutely stunning. I felt a hand wrap around my back and grip my hip lightly, and I smiled. I turned to Rafael and said, "This is amazing already." Raf smiled widely and hugged me to his side, saying, "I'm so glad that you like it, Jess." I leaned my head on Rafael's shoulder, and we watched the calming waves of the ocean as the sun set.

The next morning when Rafael and I woke up, we had breakfast waiting for us in one of the other rooms in our Villa. When he booked this, Raf must have decided that we needed a Villa, but I was just happy to be here with him. I had never been to the Carribean, and I was thrilled to be here now. I had no clue what Rafael had planned for us for the next week and a half, but I was really excited to find out.

As we sat in our Villa and ate our breakfast, I couldn't help but look over the amazing view that we were surrounded by. I smiled and sighed happily, and Rafael smiled as he looked at me and asked, "Are you finally relaxing? I know that I am." I smirked back at him and replied, "I'm just hoping that nobody calls either of us, especially since we're on call right now." Raf quickly replied, "I told Carmen to give all of my cases to Danielle while I'm gone- Danielle offered to take them before I left. The only calls that I'll be getting are from cases that we were working on for the SVU, and that're still open." I smiled, knowing that was only one case. As my mind strayed away from our life away from work, I couldn't help but blurt out the next words that came to mind.

"Raf, how do you feel about starting a family?"

Rafael looked back at me with his eyebrows raised in surprise. I laughed and quickly said, "Sorry, that was a stupid question. Nevermind." Rafael took my hands in his and replied, "Cariño, that wasn't stupid. I was going to ask you the same thing. I've wanted to talk to you about this for a while." I smiled widely, and I looked at Rafael with an excited expression. My husband looked at me with a sincere expression and said, "Jess, I'd love to start a family with you. I just want to talk it through with you and see what you think about some things that I've been thinking about."

I looked at Rafael with a confused expression, and he proceeded to explain himself. He continued, "We have to think of how much each of us works, and we have to think of the risk factor that each of our jobs brings. Obviously your job is more high-risk than mine is, but I want to make sure that you understand what we're getting into when we talk about this. We're both workaholics, and if you end up becoming an attorney, you'll be working more than you are now. Could we really raise a child in that environment?" I frowned, and Rafael immediately noticed my mood change, because he rebuttled, "But Jess, that doesn't mean that we can't. If anyone can do it, we can. I want nothing more than to raise a child with you, but I don't want that child to have to deal with having a lawyer and a detective who are rarely ever home as parents. I know that my case load will be heavy, but I can find ways to make it work. I know that you'll have alot to do at SVU when you get back, and if you apply for attorney positions, you'll have even more to do. I just want to make sure that we're okay before we bring another little life into the world, cariño."
