One thing can really help is asking yourself a question, "Stop being so ridiculous what would happen even if it did" somewhere along those lines. Whenever I would have an irrational fear I would myself this and then answer it logically, it's helped a lot and I hope if you try this it can help you too. 

I'm sorry this is so short but this is just a really short trick that I use to calm myself down, I also yell at myself in my head for having such irrational fears because when you use logic it can really shut your brain up at times, it doesn't work all the time but it can definitely help to some extent.
