Valentina's p.o.v.

I turned around in the mirror a few times. I had on a light pink romper which I paired it with brown sandals. It was simple but very cute.

My hair was out and curly. I put on some eyeliner and added a wing. Today was Blake's party. I felt pretty nervous, but it wasn't all because of Blake.

This was going to be my first high school party.

Blake had a huge house, and I wasn't sure how the party was gonna go. I made a good group of friends, but nothing huge.

"Valentina! Are you ready to go?" My dad called.

He was driving me to the party. Being a junior without a license was getting old fast, and it was only the second month of school.

I planned to get my license soon maybe next week. My dad said he would even buy me a car.

I grabbed a small purse to bring with me and went to meet my dad.

**********

My dad dropped me off in the front. He said I could stay as long as I wanted to...as long as I'm back by 11:00 pm.

I stood in front of the Blake's huge house, admiring it.

Cars were lined up in the road, music was loud and actually sounded good. There were people everywhere talking.

I felt like a fish out of water. I started to walk forward past all the people in the driveway. I was really hoping that I could find someone who I knew.

I opened the front door to see.....two people. Huh?

The front of the house was packed, but inside was basically empty.

"Hey you made it!" A voice said behind me.

I turned around and saw Blake with two cups in her hand. She had on plain jeans with a Gucci sweatshirt and tennis shoes that looked very expensive.

Her brown hair was brushed out and straightened with a black headband pulling it back.

In summary, she looked good.

I smiled. "Happy Birthday Blake."

She reached her hand towards me. "Want a drink? And thanks."

I looked down at the cup. No way in hell am I drinking something unfamiliar.

Blake must have noticed my discomfort. "It's fruit punch."

I took the cup, I still wasn't going to drink it, but I didn't wanna seem rude.

Blake gave a chuckle. "There's no alcohol at this party. Just fruit punch, root beers and sodas."

This time I gave her the yeah right look. But I still didn't say anything.

"I'm serious, my mom died because of a drunk driver. So no one in my family drinks."

It was silence for about two minutes. I wanted to say I'm sorry about that, but I felt like that would be one of the worse things you could say to someone. Just makes things more awkward.

"You wanna go up to my room?" She asked suddenly.

"Why?" I ask quickly. My mind started to race, were we going to have another makeout session?

"I could show you some of the cool things I got for my birthday already," Blake responded. It was obvious she was lying, her party was just starting.
