it was about twelve o clock, and billie and i had been joking around for the last hour.

"we've got an hour til we have to go, we should start packing." i pointed out. "right." billie said, getting up.

"im gonna go pee and then ill help, ok?"

billie giggled, "ok, baby."

i was just about to make my way out again when i heard mumbling from the other side of the door.

"did you talk to joey yet? about your.."

it was finneas' voice.

"yeah. a little bit. i don't know. we still need to think of what to say to mike later." billie stuttered.

"we don't have that long, bil. be fast about it, ok?"

"yeah, don't worry about it." she reassured him.

"are you two actually serious or just fucking around like you do with all your grown men." i heard finneas say in a playful tone.

"shut the fuck up, bro." billie laughed.

"seriously though, what are you?"

there was a silence.

"i don't know." billie sighed quietly.

i felt my heart sink.

"you really like her, right?"

"more than like, fin. ive never felt like this before. she's so precious to me and i only met her two days ago."

"i know how you feel. the first night i met claudia i wrote a song about her. you're in deep, man."

"i know." she laughed, trying to hide her anxiousness.

"just be careful, ok? seeing you heartbroken is so hard. and you don't need that on tour." finneas sounded worried, it made me smile at how much he cared for her.

"its ok, fin. i promise. i love you, man"

"love you too, bil." fin said and then he left.

i waited a moment before emerging from the bathroom.

"so what's the plan?" i asked, smiling as i shut the door lightly behind me.

billie paused, then said, "you heard all that?" blushing a little bit.

"yeah." i giggled, sitting on the bed.

"well... basically i wasn't supposed to like you. we were just supposed to be friends, that's all. but that was never my plan, i just needed them to let you stay."

i nodded, smiling. "you went to so much trouble, billie. i still cant believe that."

she laughed at my reaction before continuing. "today at the meeting, talking about coming out to everyone, im going to let mike know i started catching feelings for you."

i blushed, "you did?"

she looked at me with an 'are you stupid?" expression. "bro, fuck you think i been all over you for?" she said laughing, causing me to blush even harder. "right." i smiled slimly, slightly embarrassed.

"is that ok with you, joey?" her tone turned more serious.

"of course." i smiled brightly, and it seemed it was contagious as billie smiled back. she put her hands on my shoulders and pecked my lips before turning around and getting back to packing.

we pulled up outside a hotel. billie took my hand as we walked up to the door, three security guards surrounding the family and i. there was a large driveway leading up to it, and a row of daffodils along each side.
