"Maybe he sprained it while he's playing upstairs." Phoenix said.

Umiling-iling ako bago bumalik sa pagmamasahe ng dahan-dahan sa paa ni Chase. He's now lying beside me, resting his head in my thigh. He will let out soft cries but he's enduring the pain everytime I hold it.

I don't think he sprained it.

I'm not accusing someone. Pero si Carol lang ang pumasok sa isip ko. Why? She's the only one in here who doesn't like Chase and she's the only one in here with Chase as we worked outside the walls.

"I don't think so." Sagot ko kay Phoenix.

He let out a deep sigh at napatingin sa kakababa lang na Carol.

Her long hair is wet, obvious that she just went out of shower. When she saw Phoenix ay agad na kuminang ang mata nya. Umaga pa lang pero kumukulo na ang dugo ko dahil sa kanya.

"I'm sorry. I forgot to greet you good morning, Nick." She said, obviously trying to flirt.

Tumango si Phoenix. He smiled kaya kumunot ang noo ko. This is the first time that I've seen him smile in front of Carol. Ang kanyang mga kamay ay nasa magkabilang arm rest ng sofa habang nakadekwatro sya ng upo. Minura ko si Phoenix sa isip ko dahil naiinis ako sa pagngiti-ngiti nya kay Carol na ngayon ay naupo sa harap nya. Naipagdasal ko rin na sana'y mapunit ang mga labi nya sa kakangiti kay Phoenix.

I groaned in annoyance bago pinaglaruan ang balahibo ni Chase. I reminded myself that it is still morning, too early to totally ruin my day.

"Carol." Phoenix called and I rolled my eyes without looking at him.

Sobrang naiinis na talaga ako sa kanya. Gusto kong umalis at iwan silang dalawa dito pero ayaw kong madisturbo ang ngayo'y nakapikit na si Chase.

"Yes, Nick? Need anything?" Malanding tanong ni Carol sa kanya.

Phoenix cleared his throat before he answered Carol. "We already prepared something for breakfast. Will you please bring them on the table?"

Nanlaki ang mata ko at napatingin ako kay Phoenix bago ako napatingin kay Carol na ngayo'y hindi na nakangiti. She's giving Phoenix an are-you-kidding-me-look. Gusto kong matawa pero hindi ko magawa. Phoenix closed his eyes and bowed his head before he cleared his throat. I seriously know that move. He's trying to suppress his laugh.

"Will you do it?" Phoenix asked Carol.

"S-Sure. I-I'll call you when It's done." She stuttered, faking a smile before she bolted to the kitchen.

Napatingin si Phoenix sa akin at ang kaninang inis ko sa kanya ay biglang nawala. I laughed hard but I kept it low. Chase looked at me and wiggled his tail kaya niyakap ko nalang ang ulo nya.

"You are so unbelievable, Phoenix." I stated, still laughing.

Nakatingin lang si Phoenix sa akin habang nakangisi. The light from the windows in his back is giving me a good view on hid face. Damn. His manly features stopped me from laughing. He just looked so hot as he stares at me.

I smiled and cleared my throat na para bang may bumara rito. He remained staring at me.

"Stop it, Phoenix." Pagsaway ko sa kanya dahil nakakailang na ang ginagawa nya.

He chortled and was about to say something when Carol called him.

"Food is ready, come on!" Sabay hawak nya sa braso ni Phoenix at hinila ito patayo.

Hindi umangal si Phoenix sa ginawa ni Carol.

Sumunod naman ako sa kanila at dumiretso muna sa kwarto nina Simon para masabihan sila. I told them that the food is ready at agad naman silang nagsilabasan pati na si Simon na inaalalayan ni Hebrew patungo sa mesa.
